Sorry for the many questions, I get paid Thursday and also had a little windfall at the bookies last night. I'm reasonably certain of going with the C1+ as I think it will do everything I need/want but your Wetek Core review HD intrigued me.

Ta
If you just want 1080p HEVC / H264 and to run OpenELEC / Isengard / Jarvis only - the C1+ is still fantastic value. Kodi Jarvis is particularly fast.
The Core has the edge with 4K/2K and a quite superior Android Lolipop image that gives you all the HD / paid streaming Apps. Then you also get built in WiFi / BT / Optical / Remote etc. You get what you pay for I suppose.

OpenELEC images are about equal, the Development Isengard one on the WeTek Core needs a few tweaks and patches before mainstream release, plus the OpenELEC Mediacenter and Unofficial Repos still need to be set up. (Easily done)

I will still be doing OpenELEC updates on the C1, just to keep my hand in as well Wink

Thanks for the samples.
VC-1, 23.976 progressive play fine in both Kodi Android and OpenELEC (dc:am-vc1)
VC-1, 29.970 interlaced play but there is slight micro juddering when the camera pans in Kodi Android
This micro juddering is hardly noticeable in OpenELEC Isengard, unless you are looking for it. Action scenes with faster camera panning would be a better test.
Same in OpenELEC Jarvis when tested on the C1+ too.

is there any CEC wrxtasy?

Sounds good, thanks for testing. VC-1 29.970 causes (minor to major) issues for even the best boxes. Only Chromebox plays it smoothly for me.

Looks very nice!

Added it to the Popular hardware list, as I'm guessing a few people will want this when it comes out!

I'd personally love to be able to switch to Netflix ect on a 2nd boot option. Very interesting indeed.

I'd take VidOn off that list and add HiMedia Q5 in its place (for those who want full 3D). Forum link to Q5 thread: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=207730

Yes there is, but it does not use the comprehensive libCEC from Pulse Eight like the RPi does. Instead AMLogic have their own Kernel implementation with basic playback control. I cannot even test this out as my TV only has a very basic ON/OFF, select correct input - implementation of HDMI CEC control. I will ask WeTek.

I do know there has been some work going on for a command Library to control the AMLogic CEC implementation, done I beleive by an ex. AMLogic coder Codesnake who now works for WeTek. Some guys over on the HardKernel ODROID forums are also testing this out.

Thanks wrxtasy.. so does the kodi cec keymap add on not work to map the buttons correctly?

One thing I notice on WeTek's site is a Kodi screenshot showing banned add-ons. They should remove that, especially as this box seems Netflix/Google sanctioned.

Thanks for notice, it was generic photo from Google. Fixed.

You actually don't even need CEC to remap buttons on any remote control if you want to modify the way Kodi is controlled. That add-on works on any platform.

This is the one we are talking about yeah ?

Yes that's it .. I map my CEC remote using that tool and all the buttons do what I want it to do... are you saying this won't make a difference with this product? Or are you saying it should work fine but you're not able to check because your TV is CEC limited?

I will get check and get back to you.

If its anything like the AMLogic CEC implementation on the C1+ where the Kernel sends out Keyboard commands to Kodi for CEC control and the WeTek Core setup is the same, that add-on should work. I still need to check.

My FLIRC usb dongle works well in Android Kodi and OpenELEC, to give me custom Kodi Keyboard mapping all from a Harmony Remote control. Any IR remote control can be easily remapped with FLIRC without resorting to custom Keyboard files in Kodi.
