Mmm... No. Mpeg4 SD will stay s/w. Too many flavours for most h/w decoders.

Same for VDPAU / VAAPI btw. ... (though we have an option)
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

A gui option ?

Question
(2015-12-11, 05:59)wrxtasy Wrote: Have you integrated these IPTV Android Apps into Kodi favourites ?
(This function is my favourite part of the whole Kodi Android integration) Smile

You can go to Programs > Android Apps > Select App > "C" key or context button > Add to Favourites

Can you do the same for any android app, including Netflix?
The idea is to auto-start Kodi when android boots and only use Kodi GUI...

That would be a consideration, as every mpeg4 I've thrown at the patched OpenELEC AMLogic C1, hardware decodes just fine. I don't think I've even got very old xvid/DivX files, that's how redundant they are.

Yes any Android App using the same procedure.
Maybe the WeTek Guru, Mr. Christian Troy has something in the melting pot for an auto-start Kodi upon boot.

BIG TIP: Use the Kodi Keyap Editor Add-On to remap the WeTek Core's remote control buttons when using Kodi:
http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Keymap_Editor

I currently have the Back button, remapped during full screen video playback to Stop.
The List button (above mouse) is remapped to bring up the OSD Codec info screen during full screen video playback.
The List button again is remapped to a Context "C" function when viewing files.

You can remap the same Remote control button to different functions depending what part of Kodi you wish to use.
This is where the real power of this Add-On shines Smile
The options are endless.

@ The Kodi devs I understand there are short and long press remote control functions for the WeTek Play when using Kodi in the pipe, are these possible for the Core ?
I'm happy to provide the required details and suggest remote functions if needed ?

It's in my own pipe (already in my master, fwiw).

It's in Jarvis and mappable at will.

In the current Jarvis master, and a hint where to find it pls ?

That will be very welcome for devices that come with minimal remote controls. The old ATV1 used these sorts of short and long remote control functions for years. Great addition Smile

In case if it's not going to be added to Kodi I can easily add it to the launcher settings, actually I could just enable something for launching any app (just one at a time though lol) at boot.
It could work only for boot though because android doesn't let non system apps to listem to Intent.ACTION_SCREEN_ON/OFF, I haven't tried for the launcher (since lives in system but is not running with system uid) but I will

@Pillendreher
unluckily no, that would save a lot of headaches but when DRM is involved it's pretty hard.

The build that I have supplied for the Core has mpeg4 HW enabled because I had noticed stuttering of 24p XviD with ffmpeg: https://github.com/christiantroy/xbmc/co...Tek_mod_v3

I also had to re-enable the 250ms delay when SPDIF is not in use because with HDMI I was getting exactly 250ms delay, I have spotted it immediately when watching TV with Tvheadend as lipsync was clearly out of sync

This would be the commit from the Koying mothership for Auto Kodi start:

@CT, 8 channel PCM output ?

I agree with you on the mpeg4 H/W re-enable.

Boot into OpenELEC / Kodi Isengard 15.2 when you Click a micro SDHC card into it's slot and power up the device. Fast and works nicely indeed. Quality OpenELEC images are fast on AMLogic S8xx devices.

Where is that Openelec image?. I need an openelec image with Isengard, not Jarvis. That's because I share my database between devices (Wetek Play is one of them). It is very important for me.
Will it be ready in the future? If not, what can I do if I cann't upgrade my Wetek Play to Jarvis yet?
This came to me from the Codesnake mothership, OE / Kodi 15.2rc3. Its all very stable:
https://mega.nz/#!DlMzXDjQ!VEoKZoZCFrEah...3Qtdx6PAKs

There will be OE Kodi 15.2 final version out soon. I will fire up the compiler and add in a few personal patches for any distro I put out.

Thank you very much wrxtasy!
I will test my device with this rc version and will wait impatiently arrival of your final 15.2 version. Please, do not delay it too much. Thank you again.

Ah yes thanks, so the question I am asking is:
Is 8 channel PCM output possible with the WeTek Core, as it certainly looks like it for 7.1 TrueHD and Atmos from those tests you have done. ?
