WeTek Core (24p HD Netflix / HD Audio / Lollipop / OpenELEC / 4K / HEVC)

I'm happy Christian uploaded an apk to allow updates without an SD card. I'm still going to need a replacement though. Sad After the update, the box seems to work better.

Any idea how long it takes customer care to return an email? I'm anxious to get a fully working box.
Damn, unlucky man. Don't you just hate that, but it happens.
Post that question over in the Wetek Forums for a far quicker response, its definitely the wrong place here on the Kodi forums.

If you can list the 1080p 24hz resolution in display settings (Settings "gear" icon on the launcher -> Display -> Resolution) and the TV says 24p it should be ok but every manufacturer is a bit different in this.

How do I prevent the core from going to sleep? It turns itself off after view hours, and I can only turn on via pointing remote at it.
I don't have sleep option on in settings, only daydream after 10mins.

I think I'll head over to the wetek forum for this sort of post from now on. But Christian, you said that the wetek core doesn't have built in dlna. Maybe you misunderstood what I meant but it does have it in the media centre. It just needs to be activated and then dlna apps on a phone or tablet will play direct to the core media player. Which I was delighted with as it plays files as well as kodi. But. It can't play dts files. Are there any plans to update the core media player so it will handle dts? Thanks very much.

@Gmjh
You mean DTS audio files? Are you using PCM? In case yes, it will be updated, the DTS/DD pcm decoding libraries had to be temporary removed but will come back soon, I hope after Christmas (it does not depend on us if you can read between the lines)
About that app I have used it only as client, but maybe it is what you were meaning and I misunderstood you.

Yes I meant dts as part of an mkv movie. Which is great if it's coming back. Most of my viewing is via dlna and the core media player gives me the same smooth playback as kodi but has none of the bugs. E.g. The fast forward and rewind bug that makes the wetek version of kodi very messy.
Reply
In that case, have you played around with External players from within Kodi itself ?

http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Use_externa...on_Android

Use all the Rich metadata capabilities of Kodi, hit the context button when starting playback and play using the external player.

That might work but if I use an external player would I not be reliant on the limitations of the external player. Eg the mx player and vlc player don't play via dlna.

An experienced Android Apps guru would need to answer that.....

I think that by using the external player it's like opening that very same file in that player so having all the decoding done by that app but I might be wrong as Kodi processes audio and video separate when doing it internally, I really don't know how it would handle it if using an external player

Just finished tweaking compiling and posted up OpenELEC 6.95.4 / Kodi 16.0Beta4 for the WeTek Core over here:

Has anyone of you ever returned a Wetek device? I read the terms (btw: terrible translation to German; come on...) and they state that TNT Express picks up the device at my cost. I don't want to pay 50 bucks to send the Core back to Slovenia if I don't like it...

What do manufacturer and TNT returns have to do with Kodi ?

Nothing, but this is the Wetek Core thread, so why not ask this question here?
