Help with Cover art downloading and renaming
#1
I want to use Tinymediamanager with my WD Mycloud NAS to
download the cover art (.jpgs) for my movie collection.I want to keep the original file names
and have the posters the same name as well.It would be great to turn off the fanart.

Here is where I need help.I cannot disable the download of the fanart and I am unable
to get the downloaded Jpgs the same name as the movie file.I did find the poster file renaming section
in the settings but any change in these settings seem to do nothing

How do I get the downloaded .JPG name the same as the movie file?

Eg:
Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948).mp4
Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948)-fanart.jpg
Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948)-poster.jpg

Thanks

Settings - Movie/TV - Scraper - uncheck or check Artwork to enable/disable download

Settings - Movie - Pictures - choose <dynamic>-poster.ext (same for fanart)

Thanks but in Windows 10 and ver 2.6.9 of tinymediamanager the results are the same with
your settings.I cannot get the .jpgs to rename to the same as movie title. The poster file renaming section
in settings seems to do nothing

Can tinymediamanger even do this ?

Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948).mp4
Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948)-fanart.jpg
Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948)-poster.jpg

This is what i'm trying to get

Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948).mp4
Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948)-fanart.jpg
Abbott.&.Costello.Meet.Frankenstein.(1948).jpg

I found the issue, Multiple movies per folder

BE AWARE: this option will allow you to import multiple movies per folder.
Enabling this will cause some side effects: you are no longer be able to
choose any specific file naming or use extrafanart/extrathumbs.
USING MULTIPLE MOVIES PER FOLDER IS NOT RECOMMENDED!

Any way around this? my structure is eg: Comedy\1980s etc...

ah ok, this explains Smile

Well, no. Currently not possible (nor planned)
We only have the possibility to choose one format, and we took the "xxx-poster.ext" style, which is the default for Kodi movies not in folders.

Great news, WD have stop supporting the WDTV live SMP player. This player downloads cover art and XML file containing cover and movie info,
the problem is the TMDB has changed its url to do this.WD is not going to release a new firmware reflecting the change.Luckily the TMDB decided to
continue redirecting from the old URL to allow the player to get the info. This redirect is temporary so your software supporting the WDTV SMP would be the best solution
for downloading cover and movie info.

Thanks for all your help.

I did use Tinymediamanager to download covers for all my movie files on my NAS and renamed the
poster using other software. The database feature is awesome !
