Release Surveillance Room - Your IP Camera Companion with extra Foscam HD Support
Thanks for sharing kash777.

For some reason kodi still won't show anything in preview or all camera modes. Only the fullscreen stream. I know the snapshot urls are working in a browser, just not in kodi. Kinda stumped as to whats causing my issues.

Hi all,

Recently got myself a cheap chinese cam built by SV3C running over WiFi, the camera is decent enough for what I want and seems to work well.

I am having a couple of issues viewing the rtsp stream with the addon, i.e. I can't get it to work Smile
I have tried the stream in VLC and all is well (but 4:3 rather than 16:9), using rtsp://192.168.1.129:10554/tcp/av0_0, I can also add in my username:password@IP and the stream still works. I have tried both of these in the addon but with no luck.

Anyone have any pointers?

Thanks

This is suggestion for Drunken_prozec & Muppet1986, I did get multiple brand cams to work with Surveillance Room actually 8 since I expend the software capability from 6 to 8 but it is important that you use the correct version of Kodi I used Jarvis Version 16.1 with LibreElec Version 7.03 ----When I update the kodi to 17.1 known as Krypton and version 8.1 for LibreElect almost all my cameras quit working so make sure your Kodi is version 16.1
Also in case of Drunken since he is using unknown brand cam make sure you can see the video feed or still pictures out of your cam when you issue the same command via your Browser before try the same command within Surveillance Room.
Example : you mention you use rtsp://192.168.1.129:10554/tcp/av0_0 does this work when you use your browser? if not then it will not work on App as well.
In case of Foscam installation make sure they are in range seems like Foscam have an range issue (on Wifi) compare with other brands.
By away I installed the system on Raspberry Pi 3.Cool

Cheers Kash,

I'm running SPMC 16.6.0 which is based on Jarvis on my Nvidia Shield. I will try the browser when I get home

So I can't open the stream in a browser as it need's an activex control, the normal feed is from a webpage so I loaded the webstream and inspected the elements on the page.

I now have it working Smile

I used *http://192.168.1.129:81/videostream.cgi?loginuse=admin&loginpas=*****mypass***
*http used above^ so it didn't shrink the formatting

Thanks

Is this camera (FI8910W Foscam) supported with the app? I seem to be having problems with it. I can't tell if it is my network security or what. Thanks!

ssh kodi_username@kodi_ip_address 'xbmc-send -a "XBMC.RunPlugin(plugin://plugin.video.surveillanceroom?action=show_preview&camera_number=1)"'

How did you get write access to MotionEyeOS Machine, I've tried several times to use "mount -o" etc etc...with no luck....otherwise I am not skilled with linux....any help would be appreciated.

I have several raspberry pi's running motioneyeos and would love to get this notification working on kodi. I'm running SPMC on Nvidia shield. is it possible to receive notifications this way on the shield. I haven't found out a good way to ssh into the shield. Any help is welcome.

Hey Guys and Kash777 - I have the exact same issue, I'm using 6 of the HIK Vision DS-2CD2142FWD_IS. I can see the the main picture but nothing in the preview modes.

The config is:
Snapshot: rtsp://admin:pass@IP-AddressTongueort
Video Stream : rtsp://admin:pass@IP-AddressTongueort
MJPEG:rtsp://admin:pass@IP-AddressTongueort

(KAsh77 thanks for replying to me on your youtube page)

Cheers

Hi macnet1,

Are you using Kodi with Raspberry Pi what version of kodi do you use? also I install Kodi in top of the LibreElec I use kodi version 16.1 known as Jarvis, My suggestion is try you code within browser when it work then move it to Kodi, I suggest you change you rtsp for snapshot and MJPEG to http://: use rtsp only for video stream.
following works for Trendnet Cams
Snapshot: http://admin:pass@IP-Address:Port/cgi/jpg/image.cgi
MJPEG: http://admin:pass@IP-Address:Port/cgi/mjpg/mjpg.cgi
this one works with Dlink Cams
Snapshot: http://admin:pass@IP-Address:Port/image/jpeg.cgi
Video Stream: rtsp://admin:pass@IP-Address:554/play1.sdp
MJPEG: http://admin:pass@IP-Address:Port/image/jpeg.cgi

you have to find right combo for your cam.Cool

HI Cam
Im using a Android box (a ebay purchase) not Raspberry Pi, my config works fine only the preview mode does not activae when someone/alert activates the cameras. Also I can only see 4 cameras on one page in Kodi but I have 6 Cameras...

Hope that all makes sense Smile

Is anyone still actively developing this? I only ask as I just came across it and it fits my needs pretty well.

I have a Phylink PLC-335PW which I monitor through this add-on with success running Kodi 17.1 on an Android TV and a Windows 10 PC.

One feature I would really like to see is the extension to the Foscam previews that pop up when activity is detected as I can't get that working for this cam. Does anyone have an idea if this is possible or if there is a work around to get this working? I'm looking at buying 3 further CAMS to install outside the house but none of the Foscam's seem to fit the bill (1080p/wifi/weather proof) or get good review on Amazon. Ideally I'd like a camera at the front door which shows up in kodi on detecting motion so I can see who is there, this would be very useful for my wife when I'm away on business.

Great plugin either way even if I can't get preview working. It will be sweet to just hit a button and open a camera when I hear something at the door! Smile

2.) I am also looking at grabbing some new cameras and would actually get some of the Foscam ones based on this plugin alone (you should contact Foscam for some proceeds!). Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent doorway camera and possibly a moving camera that works well w/this plugin from Foscam?

Did you find out how to map a button to show the preview?

Did you find a door cam, I'm looking for one myself, has to be wifi and weatherproof but I'm not having any luck without spending mucho £££

I was hoping someone could assist - I stumbled on this app, and subsequent thread trying to find a IP camera solution for Kodi.

I can get the streams working in Kodi, and previews for two devices - but I'm struggling with one - I have a wifi doorbell, and discovered I can access the camera stream using onvif. The doorbell doesn't have a web interface, only an Android/iOS App.

The stream URL is rtsp://<IPADDRESS:554/onvif1, there is a lower quality stream on rtsp://<IPADDRESS:554/onvif2. No login details needed on either.

ONVIF Device manager identifies it as a GWellTimes-IPC

I've tried the various urls in this thread for previews, none work - is there anyway I'll be able to get previews working? (I've tried the rtsp urls above, they don't work)

I get this on port 5000
Code:
