fixing NFO files? (XBMC not even seeing them?)
#1
At some point, I honestly don't know when, some of my movies started not showing up. It took a bit of back of forth to figure out that I think something is up with the nfo files. TMM and Media Companion are both able to read them just fine but XBMC, and later Kodi (I just recently upgraded from 13 -> 15) are not able to even see the nfo files. I have tried to rescan the directories, no good, I have tried removing the nfo files, cleaning the lib, then scanning again and while that helped being able to see some of the movies via "file manager" in Kodi it did not help at all to make the movies show up in the database.

As this is apparently a problem with quite a few files (I haven't gone movie by movie as I have enough that it would be quite a pain) I wanted to ask if there was a way, other than erasing all the NFO files, to "fix" the nfo files... or even better if there is something I am missing that can be tweaked.

I am stumped here but I have spent quite a while tweaking all these nfo files and even more selecting posters, fanart, etc and most of all where I am working internet access costs a fortune so re-scraping my library would cost me dearly.

Any TMM tricks on how to fix this wold really be appreciated!

Don't know if it's the same issue but I only add movies and TV Shows by scanning nfo files (no internet at home) and I've had this one or two times, mostly with TV Shows but sometimes with a movie.

With TV Shows it usually showed it's ugly face when adding a lot of TV shows and only half of the series would be added and it turned out that there was a difference in the show/movie filename compared to the nfo file so the scanner would get as far as that episode/movie and then not being able to find a matching show and skip to the next movie/show completely ignoring any other episodes in that series.

It was a pretty manual process of finding out how far the update had got then checking the filenames matched the nfo files then doing another DB update.

Very likely not connected to your issue at all but it's worth checking out.

I've used Media Companion in the past and more recently moved to TMM.

Hope something here helps.

Had same issue some months ago too but was was my own fault. Missed some Movies and could not find out why they dont show up. When i found the reason i laughed bout myself. Filter was on "dont show watched" movies.

Thx, I will dlb chk the file names, I am pretty sure they are the same as the file name with the regular -poster -fanart etc endings but I have to admit that some of my lib is a bit mixed up using the old tbn structure and newer -poster etc structure... but I am not sure that is where my problem is, will check nonetheless.

A "rename & cleanup movie/show" should pretty clean out all weird names and old TBNs (according to your settings)
You might want to try that (do a test / preview first).

If still not visible in Kodi, we might need your NFO & filesystem listing....

First Sorry for my Bad English.

I can Confirm the bug.

Scanning Series with Tiny Media Manager work Great. Kodi Scann Series with Local Scrapper. All Fine

Now im Scann Movies all Corrent. Now Kodi not import. Im Use Similar to Series local Scanner kodie will Scann short an nothing is Add to Movies. No Movies Entry will Add in the Main Menü
