How about a quick/dirty option?
Not trying to figure out if the file has been played to the end?
Just marking it as watched and forgetting about it?
I'm for one, would be ok with unmarking the watch status once in a while over the erroneously started file instead of marking every file as watched.

I don't think this is a good idea. It's like removing the brake light. Just use YTlibrary's player if you find watch status and resume options to important. We will just have to update YTlibrary to play 1080p+ or find a way to let the official Youtube Plugin play the file and watch the kodi player.

And another smallish bug report: the "config file has been screwed, to the greatest luck we've got backup" don't remember the exact wording rarely helps. If it's screwed it means the only option is to restore it manually from backup. 

Are you talking about the backup the addon automatically generates for each of the .xml's of the channels? That's not a bug, that is a feature. It does this so if the files get corrupt, you can use those backups to restore the latest backup .
 

I'm trying to install this addon on a Nvidia Shield but I'm having a problem. I can't quite follow the HOW TO tutorial exactly. I have more folders to go through to get to "userdata > addon_data > plugin.video.youtubelibrary > Streams > TV" but I could get there. However, I had to enable the show hidden files option to do it.
I got to the point where I'm trying to Add new Channel as TV Show. But when I press OK it just takes me back to the top of the menu (..). It doesn't bring up a search box.

I've had other problems with permissions issues on the Shield, could that be it (it did create a YoutubeLibrary TV folder)?

Yes, it does sound like you have some permission issues with directory's. Alltho the fact that YTlibrary could create its folders is a good sign.

Can I choose another location for my files?

Yes you can. Just create your own folders in a place where you have sufficient write/read permissions. You also need to add this location as a normal source in Kodi (i've read Kodi can otherwise block certain write/read access to this directory if my addon tries to write there without it being a valid source in Kodi). After this you can alter the directory locations for tv, movies and music videos in the addon settings of Youtube Library.

I live in a rural area and have satellite internet. My data is metered. I get 10GB/month during the day but with an additional 50GB/month during the hours of 2 am to 8 am. My objective is to schedule YouTube downloads during the hours of 2 am to 8 am.
Will I be able to do this with the Youtube Library addon?

Yes, you can.

Will I be able to specify my NAS or an attached USB hard drive as the location for the downloads?

I looked at the Configuration menu and it doesn't look like there is an option to schedule starting downloads at a specific time. So, the addon doesn't do what I'm looking for even if I could get it running. Looks like a great addon though.

I'd like to put in a feature request to add an option to schedule s specific download time (or window). This would be very useful to people like me who have metered data but more data during certain times.

I'd still like to try to get it running if someone knows what I'm doing wrong. I might be able to figure out how to run it using a scheduler and set the interval for 1 day at a time.

But you can. Just set the default time to update (in the addon settings) to be in that window of time you specified and set the interval to daily. Also set the default to download. Then just leave these settings sit on your new default for every playlist/channel you add. Easy peasy.
