Live TV using USB TV tuner?
#1
I am from the UK and have just purchased this http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/ODAwWDgwMA==/z...N/$_57.JPG which works great for accessing Freeview (over the air channels) on my android box using the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai....Pad.tvapp

Is there a way in Kodi that I can view channels through the Live TV section using my USB TV tuner instead and stop using PADTV HD? It would just be a lot more convenient instead of having to using a separate app?

Thank you in advance!

Yes but not when connected directly to your Android box. You need to plugin your USB tv-tuner to a Linux or Windows computer running on your network with a third-party PVR "backend" software that acts as a PVR server software which actually does the tuning and streaming over the network, and then a PVR client addon in Kodi which connect to the third-party PVR backend software.

For more information read the wiki starting with http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR and http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR_backend to select a PVR backend software to use.

Many people in your situation setup commonel get a Raspberry Pi and install a Linux (OS) distrobution and have it run as a dedicated PVR server, meaning you plugin the USB tv-tuner to it and run the PVR tuner/server software on it, and nothing else. That way it can stream to all your Kodi devices. Recommended PVR backend software is then usually Tvheadend or VDR.

That is not what PVR is about in Kodi. Read the wiki. PVR in Kodi is about using physical tuners, not streaming of sites from the internet.

I have both tvheadend and Kodi set up on my Mint Box.

Tvheadend sees 19 TV stations.  But Kodi only sees 11, one being a radio station.

I've done everything including uninstalling the Tvheadend add-on on Kodi and re-installing it.

What am I missing?  Why won't Kodi see the 19 TV stations?
