[Raspberry Pi] Live TV freezes Pi - requires reboot
#1
Sad
I am having problems with Tvheadend + Raspberry Pi.
Have tried both in current stable OpenElec and current OSMC as well as new millhouse OpenElec which has latest TVH TvHeadend addon version.
Happens in all.
Does not happen in Kodi on windows.

If I'm watching a live TV channel with weak signal, the stream almost seems to give up.
First the image freezes and the audio keeps goes for a bit longer.
Then audio stops.
I can't exit or do anything. The frozen stream just sits there.

I have to physically power off and power Pi to get working.
SSH still works.

Actually, I just went back to the Pi and it had exited back into the PVR menu. But, it takes quite a while.

As the log shows

05:22:37 66.580513 T:1498821536 NOTICE: waiting for video thread to exit
05:24:01 150.766174 T:1438520224 NOTICE: thread end: video_thread

1.5 mins it hangs there. (I'm not that patient)

My TVHeadend version is 4.0.7-15~g8d23ea1

I recall when I used to have an iffy signal, I could exit fine.
It used to not freeze either, but just keep playing all funny like.

Maybe it has to do with the Tvheadend backend?

Ok. It seems to be much better when using OMXPlayer instead of VideoPlayer
