[possible BUG] Incorrect Metadata for streamed content Only on Ubuntu 15.10
#1
Hi!

Ever since I updated from Ubuntu 15.04 to Ubuntu 15.10, Kodi seems to be reading metadata for streamed content incorrectly, this worked perfectly the same day before I upgraded to Ubuntu 15.10, and since then it seems broken.

In for example the Youtube Addon the Air-date is completely wrong:

Another example is the Trailer addict addon ( you can see the director field is messed up):

A third example is with Apple Itunes Trailer:

This issue should probably be visible in in a lot more video-addons, especially those which provides the Info window, but these are then ones I know about.

Please note that this issue doesn't show up with any local files, then viewing info about local media everything looks completly normal

I also never had any issues with Ubuntu 15.04, this changed the same day that I upgraded.

This happens with both the version in the Kodi ppa as well as the one that comes in Ubuntus own repository, this issue affects Jarvis beta 1 as well.

After I got this issue I tried within a clean Kodi folder and reinstalled my addons, that didn't help, also after upgrading to the versions in the ppa (both Jarvis and 15.2) I tested in a clean Kodi directory)

Here is my Kodi logfile: http://pastebin.com/4vNutJkq

I have this issue as well. I'm also aware of at least 4 other people that have it. As OP, the problem started after the upgrade from 15.04 to 15.10.

Also, as with OP, I've tested with both Jarvis and Isengard and I see the problem in both.

It seems to be infolabels created from python for movies and episodes have this problem. I've seen the problem with many other addons that can't be discussed as well.

i can confirm the issue as well.

ubuntu ships with python 2.7.10, it might be a bug in there somewhere...

It might be related but I don't think it's just that because I have a 14.04 system with 2.7.10 that doesn't have this problem.

So I created a bug report for this issue on the bug-tracker too : http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/16421#ticket

It would be awesome if a developer could have look at it, please :-)

Interesting...in the issue at trac.kodi.tv there is a note, that it is related to this one from ronie:

http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/16414

inside this ticket, there is a forum thread which is not reachable for me Wink

Also getting this. In PlexBMC, episode release dates are all set to "11/30/65535". Random (though perhaps fewer) titles are reduced to things like "0D", "0", or an integer followed by the last few characters of an episode title.

yeah, it's the same issue. i should've mentioned in this thread i'd created a ticket.
the thread you can't reach is an internal one for kodi devs, where i've raised the issue as well.

Hi Ronie!

Is there anybody investigating this issue right now?

And thank you for raising the issue on your dev-forum too :-)
