MINIX NEO U1: (64bit AMLogic S905 / 10-bit 4K HEVC / HDMI 2.0)
in regards to playing 3D Bluray ISO: it looks very nice, so I'm wondering if it's half frame or frame packed MVC? as the author of this thread states Amlogic 905 cannot do full frame?
(so 1080p per eye, and not half resolution 540 per eye)

Can I share the XBMC log, how can I tell from it if frame packed or half resolution? only see mentioned 4k and full HD...

Here's 2 XBMC logs:

How I get the Minix to play 3D:
- set your tv to 3D mode (I choose TAB as it's a 4K passive 3D TV)
- reboot Minix
after this all menu's are in 3D, I launch the Minix XBMC and use the "short BluRay menu" to select "3D mode"

but how can I tell it's frame packed MVC?

Thank you for the advice,

BR.

Are you asking if the HDMI output is Full HD Frame Packed (i.e. full resolution to each eye carried in a special 'Frame Packed' format carrying 2 x 1920x1080 feeds in a special 1920x2205 signal) or HSBS/HTAB (i.e. 3D carried in a regular 1920x1080 or 1280x720 HD signal)?

MVC is nothing to do with HDMI output that is purely the encoding format of the source material. The 3D MVC 'eye-difference' feed is decoded alongside a 2D-compatible H264 feed (usually) to create the two eye feeds. You don't have 'Frame Packed MVC' on your HDMI output - the MVC source within the file (MKV, ISO etc.) is decoded to create either a Frame Packed or HSBS/HTAB output. The Frame Packed output is full resolution, the HSBS is half-horizontal (so pretty clearly reduced resolution usuallY) and the HTAB (is half-vertical resolution - which is less easy to see on passive HD displays that use 1920x540 output for each eye anyway)

Hi there,

Owning a minix u1 I was following the step D) but I don't really understand what is the meaning of this part : Copy U1 device tree file from HERE. Rename to dtb.img and save to SD card.

When I click to the link I ended up to a webpage with nothing much to do ?

Cheers!
Xzi.
