OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0)
There's a huge progress in x265/HEVC playback with the latest build. Here is my config.txt:
gpu_mem=128
arm_freq=1000
core_freq=500
gpu_freq=400
sdram_freq=600
over_voltage=6
force_turbo=0
initial_turbo=0
over_voltage_sdram=5
sdram_schmoo=0x02000020

Playback of 1080p x265 video is nice and smooth. I noticed once in a while minor stuttering (and audio out of sync as well) while the camera pan very fast but video catch up so soon and re-sync again.

I have no idea about temperature of the processor under the above overclock setting. Anyway, there's no problem (no processor halt) after playback of the 40+ minutes video was finished. In my case, video files are stored in samba and NFS server using ethernet connection.

However, I found regression for 720p 10bit HEVC playback. popcornmix said it's unlikely playback of 10-bit is possible on RPi2 but in fact, playback works starting from build #0123. When I say 'works', I meant video shown properly but with severe audio out of sync (video lacks behind audio). With the latest build, playback of 720p 10bit HEVC video became a moving weather satellite map.

I'm not surprised about the playback problem of 10bit HEVC, Playback was nice and smooth on my ARM and x86 tablet for Kodi 16 rc2 but after I upgraded to Kodi 16 rc3, it was blank, showing only the subtitles!
