You shouldn't need to overclock a Pi 3 for H264 Live/Recorded TV - even 1080/50i MMAL Advanced is fine at default clock settings. Have you done the usual switch between OMX and MMAL hardware acceleration to check it's not just a funny in MMAL (which is the default player these days)? (You can still MMAL Advanced deinterlace with OMX Playback acceleration - they are separate processes AIUI)

For some Live TV sources OMX Player is still more reliable than MMAL Playback it seems.

Thanks very much for the help. Indeed I've enabled omx player and it seems to fix buffering issue. I don't know if it link related or it did it thing. But anyway many thanks. Will continue to test.
I´d like to ask if it is possible to add the dvbviewer live tv addon again
the developer added api 5.1 support as far as I understand
running 310 on a pi2 - couple of issues:

lockup of the GUI at times... most of the times it comes back - but not always patient enough
EPG load for display takes a very long time..
Most of the time not responding to previous button (using MCE remote)
display of pictures (jpg, lots of them on my server accessed via SMB) causes a reboot

Like the skin - hope the issues get ironed out soon...

thnx

I've subscribed to PR:30, although looks like a work-in-progress - assuming it is merged and dvbviewer will build I'll re-include it in future builds..

I don't have a source tree. You can see how to build here.

Other way: modify advancedsetting.xml, user buffermode=1, increase cache buffer and read factor. See here: http://kodi.wiki/view/Advancedsettings.xml
I've been using the GPU acceleration for jpg decoding now for quite a long time and it definitely gives a huge speed up when browsing through my personal photo gallery (loaded from USB HD directly connected to a RPi2). Unfortunately this causes massive audio interruptions, either from streamed web radios or local mp3s of mine, when browsing and listening at the same time. I cannot tell exactly if it was introduced with a specific build but I realized it at least for the last 10 builds or so.
Is it known? Can anything be done? If GPU acceleration is disabled playback is just smooth as always.
Resolved my problem by resetting all settings .. i.e. deleted all xml files in the /storage/.kodi/userdata/ directory.

I have configured the onboard wifi to connect to my router but cannot get internet access.

It connects to the time server and sets the time fine.

The IP address (DHCP) and DNS server values all look fine.

I am unable to complete a movie scan as it cannot connect to the TMDB.

I am able to access the PI 3 by wifi through the web interface and through Samba.

Thanks.

PS I think the old theme is nicer.
To help to resolve my issues with SPDIF audio when using a USB sound stick I bought one of these....

Image

The device is set to 5.1, meaning that the SPDIF will output up to that in either DTS of DD.

.....and with OpenElec 6.0.3 it will indicate on my Logitech Z5500 amp that it does indeed pass through DTS and DD. So all seems good..

With these builds however, and the same settings it will not pass through DD or DTS but just indicate no digital source. The non DTS or DD sounds play fine, like the menu sounds etc when navigating the UI.

I'm not sure what to do to achieve the same reported output....?

I can post logs with both OE 6.03 and the latest of these builds if that will help.

Logs for OE 6.0.3 all working fine with DTS and DD selected....

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jqlf8cbq0cdzit...3.zip?dl=0

Logs for latest build of these with no DD and DTS Pass through....

https://www.dropbox.com/s/t7uptjae7ml7ir...3.zip?dl=0

EDIT: Added another log, this time with OSMC which uses Kodi 16 and that works great also......

https://www.dropbox.com/s/cflo1ggg3ftqcl...6.zip?dl=0

it also noted the Pi audio as PI HDMI. No problems with DTS or DD pass through and switching between those and the default sounds etc for the UI.

In each test Pi HDMI is selected as the audio device (although in OE 6.0.3 it is just named as HDMI) and also for the pass-through with both DTS and DD enabled to pass through.

Excellent, thanks so much for this!

By the way, does anyone know if there is bluetooth support for RPi3 in the works somewhere?

EDIT: To answer my own question it does work, but bluetoothd wasn't started. The bluetooth service doesn't start unless /storage/.cache/services/bluez.conf exists, so I touched it and it now starts fine.

Not known. Is it only photos, or do you get issues when browsing through movies/TV shows (which also does a lot of gpu jpeg decode).
Is the USB disk necessary for the probem? Can you reproduce with photos stored on sdcard or network?
Are you talking about HDMI, analogue, SPI or USB audio?
If this is a new problem then identifying the first build with the issue would provide the best chance of fixing it.

Any better with latest build? PR9344 may have helped.

Sadly no, same issue with 0313 where playback of recorded TV never starts and eventually consumes all the memory. The really odd thing is that liveTV is just fine but recorded TV is not. They're pretty much the same since both are mpeg2 being served up by mythtv, just one is playing while still recording and the other is not.
Has anyone gotten the Fire TV Stick remote to work with the builtin bluetooth of the Raspberry Pi 3. It says connected but there is no response from the GUI when the buttons are pressed.

Is this a known issue?

Cheers,
LongMan
