OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0)
It seems that each time I stop a video playback the stop button sound (click) is heard much louder than the actual volume level setting. After that the sound level is OK.

Is the USB disk necessary for the probem? Can you reproduce with photos stored on sdcard or network?
Are you talking about HDMI, analogue, SPI or USB audio?
If this is a new problem then identifying the first build with the issue would provide the best chance of fixing it.

I only observe those issues while (quickly) browsing through photos. They also occur from photos on the sdcard, so no USB problem. Audio is over HDMI. I'll try older builds soon.

hi there, anyone managed to get this running in 4k resolution?

Nope. Pi doesn't support 4K.
(well it can just about drive the resolution, but it's too much to decode video at that resolution).
Hey!

Since a few 8.0 builds (I think around #0311), when I try to play a recorded TV programs using the TVHeadEnd PVR client, the "please wait" circle appears and Kodi becomes unresponsive. Watching live channels works fine, this only applies to recordings. I already tried resetting OpenELEC to system defaults.

I can restart Kodi via SSH, but if I don't do that, the PI freezes completely after about 20 seconds of "circle rotation".

The latest 7.0 does not exhibit this issue, neither do the first few 8.0 builds.
Kind regards, Frank

Kodi: LibreELEC Beta
HTPC: Raspberry Pi 2 (Model B)
TV: Toshiba 47"
NAS: Debian Jessie x64 (Gigabyte GA-D510UD), HDD 3x1.5 TB + 1x2 TB (SnapRAID, MergerFS)
Even though I back up once a week to a separate drive on my network it seems that I cannot even restore at this point. After going to build 313 this has happened. I am wondering if it is the SD card that has become corrupt. Looks like I will have to start from scratch. I am able to boot up but after about 30 seconds mouse goes dead. I also notice my resolution is not set the same either. Any ideas on how to maybe backup or prevent this again? Thanks.
Similar to Loc2262, 0314 is still broken for playing back recorded TV and live TV continues to work fine. I'm using mythtv.
A follow up to the sound problems with the audio extractor....

I have found that non DTS or DD files will play fine as there is no "switch" to the DTS or DD needed.

In all the other log files posted I used two films as examples "300" as it has a DTS soundtrack and "A beautiful Mind" as it has a DD soundtrack.

If I play these files with build 314 (like all the others of these builds) there will be no DTS or DD sound heard. The Amp is showing no digital source.

BUT.....

If, whilst the film is playing I bring up the info for the film and select the settings and then"Audio and Subtitle Settings" and then flip the "Enable Passthrough" to off and then after a second back to on I then get a digital signal and sound is fine BUT it is not noted as DTS but simply "Digital".

When playing with OSMC (Kodi 16) or OE 6.0.3 (Kodi 15.2) all is perfect with DTS Digital being shown.

Next film.... A beautiful Mind with DD

Because this also has another sound track as well as DD I initially get sound but not DD. The amp shows "No Digital Data" however if I repeat the steps above by flipping off and then on the passthrough I will then get a Digital signal and all is well.

Log files when I do this.....

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jp330teck3v3wd...4.zip?dl=0

as noted OSMC and OE are both perfect and identify and play DTS and DD with no issues.

The issues are only with Kodi 17 builds.

If I play any material with DTS or DD sound I need to do the above if I use Kodi 17 but not any other.

Hope the above helps Smile

Identifying the first Milhouse build with this issue would be useful.
Might be worth trying the hdmi_audio_config options from here.
With the change to dynamic device tree overlays does anything need to be changed with the dtoverlay=sdtweak,overclock50=100 command in config.txt?

In general no changes need. There are a few special cases (use of white space, or unnecessary use of "-overlay") but generally no changes needed.
See here for more info.
Just noticed something odd. Got a RPi3 and noticed that when in suspend mode the temperature of the cpu ramps up. With a copper heatsink it sits at about 82 degrees Celsius (monitored through terminal). Once unit leaves suspend the temperature drops back down to about 65 degrees celsius. I've only tested on the latest build 0314.
