I'm not suggesting those cheap AMLogic boxes be used for Kodi, but be used to install LibreELEC Kodi Krypton instead. A combo like a AML S912 MINIX U9, that is high quality hardware running LE makes a terrific futureproofed 4K combo.

If you don't fancy DIY, then the UK sourced Linux box the Vero 4K is another good option. That is Plug N Play and boots directly into OSMC Kodi:

 Thanks for this..........that Vero 4k - running OSMC - It says that you can choose between 2 skins, so my question is - Is OSMC not customizable? Is it a "build" type OS that you can't unlock?

I'm not familiar with OSMC at all, sorry - i assume it's easy to run, customizeable and you can upgrade easily to new versions?
