1080p does give the best picture but the edges of the screen are chopped off, is there a way to make the picture fit the screen

If so, Apple just blew nVidia Shield out of the water.Yes, we need to understand whether the new SDK allows for bitstreaming "per se" or if this Atmos thing is simply a per-app setting that supports just Atmos.

It will be connected to a denon 6400 which will do all the heavy lifting on the sound side of things. The projector is a Optoma UHD65The Nvidia shield, which you already have.
Right now I have a Nvidia Shield.
Which media player I should buy to get the most of this system?

It is close to being called perfect. The one thing that it isn't doing is passing the MaxFALL/MaxCLL in the HDR10 metadata. It is actually the AppleTV 4K that has problem. Apple TV 4K replaces the source HDR10 metadata with its own generic one.
Also even on 1080p AppleTV produces better image
