One last reply because this thread should indeed not turn into a linguistic discussion.
Official language really is more of a political term than a linguistic one. Southern Dutch is the 'official' language in Belgium, much like American English is the 'official' language in the US. Would you refer to US English as a dialect of the Queen's English?

Correct. The Americans do not have an own official language. They use English
Just like Martijn said, use the grammar correct sentence, not the spoken language. There are simply too many of them.
You can really talk hours about this subject I once had a discussion with an American about using tv show or series in the app
I needed to use tv show.....but I said on Netflix I often see "An all new series" being used.....so which is it?
Just google on the subject....series is the collection of all the episodes I found. A show is an individual episode, but can also be used like Friends is a show.
Anyway...I am still lost
