Where did you get the widevine file as when I click on link on instructions, it just takes me the chrome download page in German?

Select the link to download for other platforms (probably depends on what OS you are using, in my case Windows but you need the Linux distro).
Select Linux, and in the popup select 64bit Debian. This downloads a file google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.tar which you can unpack using e.g. 7zip.
In google-chrome-stable_current_amd64\opt\google\chrome you will find libwidevinecdm.so , copy that one to your OpenElec.

I did it like this: copy it to the SMB share Downloads that OpenElec has, then in a Putty session copy the file from there (~/downloads) to ~/.kodi/addons/browser.chromium/bin

Word of warning: my install stopped working yesterday, complaining that it cannot load this library. I found out Chromium auto updated to 7.0. Not sure that one can work but I decided to uninstall, install 6.0.4 again as per the instructions, copied the lib again, and things work again. Disabled Chromium auto updating for now.

Afraid to say does not work on my Win 7 machine, click on the link for 64 bit Linux & all it does is goes to internet & then installs Google chrome, tried in Firefox, IE 10 & Chrome with the same results.
