As the topic states.. When playing some movies I noticed they are shifted (cut off) to the right.. All are MKV files.. I tested them on my Nexus Player and they play properly. Also tried Plex and Emby on the shield and they play properly as well- Only have this issue with KODI.. This does not happen on all titles- only a few so far.. Happens on both 15.2 and Jarvis beta 4.

Anyone run into this??

debug log (wiki)? Maybe Kodi thinks they are 3D and is trying to use 2D mode (showing only one half of the picture, etc).

Oh.. Also wanted to add that so far the DVD movies that this is happening with are around 10 years old.. Not sure that has anything to do with it.. Not all of them, but this is the one common factor.

Well, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with 3D modes getting triggered by accident.

I can post a log of Kodi on my Nexus Player that does not exhibit this behavior if that might help get to the bottom of this.. First I think I'm going to downgrade back to 15.2 on the Shield so the conditions are the same.

OK.. I downgraded to 15.2 on the shield and am including that log, and a log from the Nexus Player running 15.2 that is NOT exhibiting the same behavior..

I've seen this for anamorphic dvd rips (mpeg-2). I know that Kodi with PlexBMC and Plex on the Shield TV were resizing and cutting the right side of the frame.

Thanks.. Looks like you were correct.. I re-ripped the DVD using Handbrake instead of MakeMKV and messed with some settings, including setting anamorphic to 'strict' and it took care of the problem..
