v17 Shield ATV - Krypton (pre) Alpha 1 PT audio issues & Test Builds
Upgraded my shield tv to marshmallow.
The version I'm using is still working fine.
However systeminfo only shows 2 cpu kernels 0 and 1.
log: http://xbmclogs.com/pauebevjb
Yes - it's cosmetic - has no effect on anything else.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
I installed the version in post #819, but that one doesn't include tvheadend. Changed back to version

Hmmm, has anybody else tested Marshmallow with HD audio on the Shield TV?

I will test the last build Fritsch linked soon. Only just got in.
Mac Mini (2.7GHz, Late 2012, Windows 10, Kodi DSPlayer) | SATV 16GB | Panasonic TX-P50GT50B | Yamaha RX-V675 | Q Acoustics 2010i (FL, FR, Left S, Right S), Q2000ci Center, Q2070si Sub
Aren't we supposed to be using the nightlies from the OP?
It was tested on the Shield v3 since months, basically our team had access to the firmware before release, everything was verified working.

Yes - normally nightlies are suggested, but something ™ not video / audio related broke Android playback some weeks ago. I bisected the commit, but nobody cares for now ...

I should be looking for stuttering right or lack of right?

No - master stutters since 12th February. The bisected commit was reported to the author, but nothing has yet happened as it is totally not clear _why_ this commit does that.

May not need but here are logs anyways.

TrueHD - http://xbmclogs.com/pr3eg2yew - zero stutter

Latest V17 nightly

DTS 1500 - http://xbmclogs.com/pkcg1lbkm - stutter like crazy
DTS-HD MA - http://xbmclogs.com/p0ndgirqm - stutter like crazy
TrueHD - http://xbmclogs.com/p2q8e4wfc - stutter like crazy.

Does the shield software version 3 have any effect on refresh rate switching? If I want HD Audio and refresh rate switching is it still better to stick to Koying's V16 experimental version?
Sell your Shield and get a NUC - that's all I can suggest currently. Android is a big mess - API wise. I hope there will be proper passthrough api with version 7 :-)

I love the NUC i had an i5 running Openelec the problem is no UHD 4K through the HDMI as its only 1.4 and the H.265 playback on UHD files maxed the cores out and the shield is less than half the price
Yeah and half the quality when playback ... so you got a lot for your money :-)
