4K videos (maybe) showing in 1080p
#1
Hi Everyone,

I installed Kodi 15.2 on my Asustor as3102t NAS. I connected the NAS with a HDMI cable to my 4K Philips TV and I wanted to test some 4K videos (.mp4 files). They are playing, but I'm not sure I'm watching 4K. When I press the info button on my TV, it says I'm watching 1080p60. It's says the same when I'm not playing any videos and when I'm just in Kodi menus. Maybe the TV just shows the wrong info, but when I play 4K from the Netflix atv app, the TV shows I'm watching 4K.

I also bought a new HDMI cable (just in case). It's a standard "high performance" cable that should support 4K.

Is it possible that Kodi is downsizing the video?
Or are there any resolution settings I can't find?

Thanks for reading!

please give v16 RC a try as there have been some improvements in regards to 4K ( http://kodi.tv/kodi-16-0-jarvis-release-candidate-1/ ).
