Jarvis Skin Settings
#1
With Jarvis, I know the skin settings have been moved from the guisettings file over to its own file. I was able to find these files in both ~/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/skin.aeon.madnox & ~/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/skin.confluence. I know they are getting created. My issue is none of my Jarvis setups seem to be loading these files on startup. I've been losing all my skin settings and view tweaks since I started using the Beta versions. Currently I am running RC2 and I will go into a view and change something in it, restart the machine, and all those changes I made are gone and its back to the "default" settings.

I have gone through the kodi.log file and it doesn't seem to load these files (however not sure if this would be logged to begin with).

Any ideas??

http://xbmclogs.com/pbi7iwk6k <-- kodi.old.log (this was where I went into the tv section and changed a couple things in the view)

http://xbmclogs.com/pmrb1wb8h (this is after the reboot and checking the tv section and once again back to default)

I have this issue also. I've got 2 systems, one on final version and one on rc3. Both seem to go back to default skin settings anyttime there is a reboot. Very frustrating.

Me too. It was fine on RC2, but with final release my skin settings are not saved. The only way to save it is to go to power menu and select to exit Kodi. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks for the mention about the power menu. I too had been having this problem with Jarvis final, it was driving me nuts.
I even reset my user profile folder to see if that fixed it to no avail.

Shutting down with the power menu at saves the settings however, so this is a valid workaround for me.
Any time I want to change a skin setting I just have to remember to shutdown from within kodi and the setting will be saved.

Previously I'd been doing
Code:
pkill -TERM -f kodi
to cleanly shut down kodi, but it appears in Jarvis this isn't clean enough.
alelec kodi repo, hosting my binary addons not eligible for the official repo .
netflix, sbs ondemand, webdriver etc.
