ODROID C2 S905 2GB RAM HDMI 2.0 $46
i am not doing anything in background all the runs is libreelec with kodi jarvis and confluence as skin - the videos and movies are playing fine without stuttering

all i did is configure my database and the multimediafiles are on my nas which is connected with 1gbit - so is the c2

i use a kingston sdxc 32 gb UHS-I Klasse 10 with 90MB/s read and 45MB/s write

at the moment i don't have another card here to test but this worked without problems with my raspberry 2 - which is much more responsive ?? Sad

Are you experiencing delay in all menus, or just when pulling up lists of stuff stored on the NAS? You should SSH into the box and see if something is consuming a large amount of CPU time. Maybe reboot it if you haven't already tried that. It should be noticeably snappier than the Pi.

no its all menus - not just when connecting to nas (otherwise i would have said something is wrong with my connection)

i already rebooted severals time - which did not help - looking after it via the terminal is a good idea Smile but now its time for presents here in austria so i will have a look at it via ssh tomorrow and see what i can find out.

thanks for all your suggestions - i hope some of them help to sort my problems out - gonna give feedback tomorrow Smile

Seasons greeting to everyone Smile

A slow AMLogic LE box especially when navigating the Kodi GUI is nearly always fixed by replacing the SD card with known AMLogic compatible ones.

Large sequential quoted R/W speeds mean nothing when used with Kodi. You need to look at Random 4K R/W speeds.
Proven AMLogic compatible, superior, random 4K - R/W SD cards are the Samsung EVO(+) and Sandisk UHS-1 Class 10 ones. Never had issues with these two brands across multiple AMLogic devices.

a wrxtasy - nice to hear from you - well i did not know that i have to use certain sd card - but i will go for one of the ones you mentioned - is there also a certain size that works pefectly or doesn't this matter ?

and are temps around 45° - 55° ok ?

Did you think about emmc storage? It has a really amazing performance.

yes i thought about it but first of all they are really expensive here (germany, austria) about 35€ just for the 8Gb and on the other hand my odroid runs permanently and i thought i would only see some advantages against the sd while starting up and not while running libreelec/kodi ...

so first i will try one of the sd-cards wrxtasy suggested and if that still not helps i will think of getting an emmc memory

I bought the eMMC module as part of a kit @ pollin.de for only €80,-

Almost worth to buy that kit and sell off the extra C2 Wink

yes i bought my c2 also from pollin and i know about that kit but that was not on stock till yesterday or today and is i am not good at waiting Wink and wanted to have something to play with over the holidays

thats why i bought the single c2 with a housing - so now i will first try one of the sd-cards wrxtasy suggested and if that does not help i will go for a single emmc card

btw. thats what i get from top when watching an fhd-mkv from my nas with the size of 34GB:

Do you hear the click sound as soon as you press a button, or is that delayed too?

Next time you she'll into the box, do a dmesg command to see if the kernel is complaining about anything. Also, take a look at the Kodi log file for anything strange. You're absolutely sure you don't have an IP address conflict, right?

yes network is fine absulutly no ip conflicts

i installed iperf on c2 and it shows mit about 900 Mbps from Nas to C2 and also from C2 to Nas - so the network could not be the problem

i will switch on kodi.log over night and look into terminal if kernel is complaining about anything and report back tomorrow Smile

Something easy to try, plug in a keyboard to make sure the IR or Bluetooth (whichever you have) isn't to blame.

I'm thinking about replacing one of my Raspberry Pi 3's with a ODROID C2, but have a few questions.

1) If my rPi 3 has this sort of disk usage of the uSD with LE Jarvis, will the Odroid C2 running LE Jarvis be about the same?

Code:
Filesystem                Size      Used Available Use% Mounted on
devtmpfs                363.4M         0    363.4M   0% /dev
/dev/mmcblk0p1          511.7M    127.8M    384.0M  25% /flash
/dev/mmcblk0p2           28.4G    217.9M     28.2G   1% /storage
/dev/loop0              117.9M    117.9M         0 100% /
tmpfs                   368.5M         0    368.5M   0% /dev/shm
tmpfs                   368.5M      5.8M    362.7M   2% /run
tmpfs                   368.5M         0    368.5M   0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs                   368.5M         0    368.5M   0% /tmp
tmpfs                   368.5M    240.0K    368.3M   0% /var

2) Is there any performance difference between the different size eMMC modules or is the 8GB just as fast as the large ones?

3) Is there a similar config.txt file for the C2 that allows output resolutions and other HDMI parameters to be forced at boot?
