ODROID C2 S905 2GB RAM HDMI 2.0 $46
Thanks for the quick reply.

Okey, I did the following, every unit was powered off:

1) boot Odroid C2 & TV
2) Start the AVR
3) Went to system settings -> Audio -> "Reset above settings to default".
4) Enabled "Allow passtrough, and enabled all the tickboxes below regarding passthrough. (The reciver supports all formats)

The post said that you should not change anything else, but I changed the Audio output device to "AML-M8AUDIO, HDMI" from "Default(AML-M8AUDIO Analog)" so that it matches the field "Passthrough output device" (you could not change that, it is greyed out)

I then confirmed that the "Sync playback to display" was turned off.

It still looks like the passthrough does not work, I only get stereo sound from the speaker system..

Yesterday I watched another movie, connecting my Macbook Pro straight to the reciver, and it immediately played it with DTS sound...so the reciver seems to be working.

One question, what does the "-Enable Dolby Digital (AC3) transcoding" do? It also says "If your system suports PCM multichannel audio via HDMI, leave this disabled". I had it enabled.

Thanks a lot for the help.

On my system passthrough works just fine eventhough C2 is always on.

Sorry, I wrote wrong in my latest message. I first started the AVR and then the C2. Anyway I did a clean slate of libreelec and tried again, still the same problem. Here is a new debug-file..

So I've noticed a fair bit of "choppiness" when browsing my library. Micro-stutters when moving from cover to cover, or from menu to menu. Highly noticeable. Running off an eMMC here - is there anything I can do to improve this at all? The most I've done is installed LibreELEC fresh, and haven't changed anything (just added my library paths).

Is this the first time you have browsed your library? It should work fine once your artwork is cached.

@nickr No not really, I regularly add/clean up the library.

I'm of the understanding that this should offer "appliance-like" fluidity when navigating. Maybe I'm asking too much. On my Mac Mini, it is the smoothest thing ever, and I kinda miss having that on my TV sets Smile. My Intel NUC i3 is definitely a hell of a lot smoother, with no lag/jerk when moving between items.

I'm thinking there's quite a difference in performance between the ARM RISC and the Intel CISC architecture. Intel has special instructions just for performing multimedia tasks. Tuning the thread priority for one architecture probably negatively affects another. These are just educated guesses since I don't know the internals of Kodi to any significant extent. Kodi is, and probably always will be, a work in progress.

The C2 should be able to be safely overclocked to 1.752Ghz

Plus there is always a bit of RAM speed tweaking with a simple script:

@bogchop all I can say is that my experience is different. The C2 is as quick as my Chromeboxes.

Did anyone test a Odroid c2 eMMC vs class 10 sd Card?
On paper it is faster.. but how this translates to real life? Smoother menu? Faster movie starting?

Thanks @wrxtasy - I've applied the CPU OC and its marginally snappier. That RAM overclock has got me interested - reckon if I apply it, my boblight setup will work correctly? (running a lightpack) Smile.

@nickr I'll try and grab some video of pre/post overclock to show the difference!

This is the latest I would use,

LibreELEC-Odroid_C2.aarch64-8.0.1.LG-Simplink.tar

@wrxtasy I like your releases a lot, any chances to make a latest Kodi Krypton build and LE with your patches, fixes, etc?
AFAIK, the one above is the latest from you up to now.

Until I get my build system up and running again, what can be done is simply manually replace the 64bit KERNEL found on the SD / eMMC with the one from the above .tar That KERNEL file is:

64bit = Official LibreELEC C2 releases.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I don't get it. I should install your LG Simlink version from my post, and then copy the Kernel you linked in your answer? Then I will have the latest Libreelec & Kodi, keeping your patches and fixes from the Simlink version? So replacing Kernel actually replaces Libreelec (and Kodi) version? Sorry for beeing n00b If I didn't get this right, what is the benefit of replacing the Kernel? Thanks
