Hi jaarsa

Is your model the v3.

This is the version that's giving problems.

You can check the version by removing the 4 screws under the rubber pads then check version number on. Board.

Thanks

Quote:Support for Geniatech HDStar v3 tuner is broken in mainline Linux kernel for Raspberry Pi distros. Below you will find links for a kernel patch and binary modules for this device.
binary modules
patch
To install the modules, untar them in root directory:
cd / && untar /path/to/geniatech_hdstar_modules.tar.gz

the links:

don´t know if it solves anything, i was thinking to purchase one just tu see if i could use it, but i think this is too hard for me. The thing is that that geniatech is very cheap, wich is really good.

Hope the links help... if someone can use it i would be very aprecciated if you teach me how to configure this.

Hopefully I wont get in too much trouble for resurrecting an old thread, but it seems a waste to create a new one.

For anyone with an HDStar v3 I found the following fork of the V4L drivers has the patch applied and made my HDStar v3 work in Ubuntu with Tvheadend.
