with sponsors such as nvidia, weetek ect, kodi has to be seen to be actively against piracy addons and the likes but in truth its grown too fast in the past year or two that trying to shut everything that may be an infringement of sorts is near impossible, so disclaimers and things like that seem the only reasonable solution.
i can see in krypton you have to enable 3rd party sources and it comes with a warning, nothing much more you can do bar compleatly lock it down which goes against the whole open source ethos
