That seems to be going in the wrong direction. No one is going after the add-ons themselves. This is not fighting piracy, it's fighting the sellers and websites to make money selling pirate TV boxes. This same problem could exist (in theory) with just local file support, because it is a marketing problem. It became profitable for the hucksters to push "those" add-ons, and that's why it overshadows everything else. Plex has bootleg add-ons too, but the other parts of Plex are more popular.

Like I said before in this thread, Kodi's best bet is: 1) encourage hucksters to not use the Kodi brand, rather than fight them on it. 2) promote the legal uses of Kodi as much as possible.
