Is there a way to move the position of the menu bar without using an alternative skin? I honestly don't fancy playing around with a different skin because they usually look totally different.

Hello,

late answer, but take a look into Home.xml, line 735. I assume that you should edit the <top>-tag and the y-values of the animation effects.
