Hi folks, new to the Kodi forum (and indeed scene). Bit of background, and specs first probably needed.
I am running OpenElec on a Pi3, with 32MB memory card, connect via HDMI to TV. This is then connected to a Wireless network, which has a Windows 8.1 PC running ServerWMC on it and WMC.
So, I have managed to get Kodi running on the Pi3, reasonably well. I have configured my music folders, and therefore know I have sound.
Q1) I then tried to configure TV, after a few failures I managed to get the Pi to recognise the ServerWMC using PVR WMC add-on. So when I connect to LIVE TV it now lists the channels, and programme information. I then click on a channel (lots of different ones tried), I get Buffering - Please Wait across the top of the screen, and then it returns to the channel listings. Nothing starts up.
Q2) I have about 2500 programmes on the PVR currently, they are in the standard WMC format (3 or 4 Recorded TV Folders, spread across a few WMC systems) how do I access these within Kodi? Do I have to create a share to the media folder, or (as I understood it to work) is there some way to access them through ServerWMC?
PS Apologies for lack of LOG files, I'm not at home at the moment, so I will try to upload LOG files when I get home.

A1) Your pi needs to have access to the recorded tv folder on the wmc machine. So this folder needs to be a network share, and the pi additionally needs to have the login credentials to access the recorded tv folder. See the folders tab in serverwmc to check this and add the credentials. Also use the wmc machine's IP address instead of name in the network path. If that's not the problem, then we do need to see a log after a failed attempt to watch live tv. Make sure to post the log on pastebin.com and put a link to it here.
A2) Yes that's right, your main wmc machine with serverwmc (lets call it the 'server') needs to have access to all the other rec tv folders. Once that server's wmc lists all the other recordings on other machines, serverwmc will see them too (once you restart it). But remember that all of your serverwmc client machines, like the pi, will only be using your server for doing recordings and all the recorded files will go in that server's rectv folder. As you can probably guess, serverwmc is meant to run with one server that has access to all the tuners and lots of disk space. All the clients use it to schedule and do the recordings and stream from its storage.

Go to C:\Users\Public\Libraries then right click on Recorded TV>Properties there you can add all your Recorded TV locations to the Library so WMC sees them. you also need to go to the Folders tab in ServerWMC and enter credentials for accessing the shares. You need to have the same user/pass on all machines that have Recorded TV shares on them. If you need to add a user you can make them a member of IIS_IUSRS which will prevent them from showing on login screen (not sure how this will work on Windows home edition, it works on pro)
See this in your log:
19:46:54 12.503144 T:1735390272 ERROR: AddOnLog: PVR WMC Client: Recorded tv 'smb://LIVINGROOM5/Recorded TV' does not exist
You should add network locations using their IP address rather than their name (eg.192.168.1.10/Recorded TV)
If I have been of help, please add to my reputation as a way of saying thanks, it's free.

All your recordings should be showing up in the 'Recordings' section of the TV sub menu (that's one of the things serverwmc does is provide that list to Kodi). If you are seeing them in the video section, its because you added your recording folders as a media source to kodi, which is not necessary (and not recommended).
In the Folders tab of serverwmc, where it says "Enter the network path ..." in the text field you want to substitute out the machine name for the IP address of the server.
If it still doesn't work, I really want the serverwmc log (see the debug tab in serverwmc) after you try and start a live stream - not the kodi log.

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow. I did try to get the ServerWMC log, but it was 516k, and PasteBin only supports up to 512k - oh for four k!
I'll restart both machines when I get the chance. One thing I tried was uninstalling and reinstalling PVR.WMC on the Kodi box, but that seemed to keep the original settings unfortunately, then it sat on "Starting PVR" for over half an hour, this doesn't seem correct, but I gave up for the night.

Make sure serverwmc is running. Then open the pvr.wmc addon in Kodi, hit 'Configure' and make sure the IP address is entered for the machine that is running serverwmc. Once that's done make sure pvr.wmc is Enabled. That should be it, that will open a socket connection between Kodi and Serverwmc.

Ah, discovered that I needed to "Re-Enable" LiveTV in settings.
One last question - I've now got the 2500 odd recordings under "TV Recorded Shows", but I don't see any way to re-organise them, as it's useful to me to get them listed in alphabetical order by TV show. Also, is there any way to see the "episode info" bits that I can see under WMC. These are useful.

When you are in the TV recording list view, navigate to the left with your remote (or left arrow on a keyboard), and you'll get choices for how to arrange the recordings.
As you select each episode, you should see episode info. If there is some bit of info that wmc shows that kodi isn't, let me know what it is.

Somehow the log you posted is incomplete, it looks like you started it and stopped it before all the startup info was logged. The problem you are describing though, sounds the same as the last problem, namely that your clients are not able to access the recorded tv folder. So make sure the recorded tv folder is shared and that serverwmc has the proper credentials entered on its 'Folders' tab. These credentials should be the login for the user account that serverwmc is run under.
If all that is correct, then start serverwmc, then start kodi. After kodi starts, try to start a live stream. Assuming that fails, post the entire serverwmc log again.

Hi Krusty - I'm assuming in the "Folders" page you need to put the user in the format domain\user - rather than just the username?

Just the user name. That's all I do anyway.
