I am using Kodi to play files from Synology NAS.
On Mac, I was using built in apple (AFP) protocol to attach a network share on OS level and pointed Kodi to use that mounted directory. With this setup moving file is as fast as if it was stored locally.
I switched to raspberry pi (but it is also true for Kodi shares on Mac): when I add network share in Kodi and move a file (between directories in the same share) instead of sending move command to NAS, it transfers file through Kodi and the speed is ~5MB/s.
I checked WebDAV and NFS. NFS is much quicker when I scan for the new content but didn't solve the problem with slow moving files.
