is there a tutorial to setup openvpn someplace?

I have a CRT file and my config file.

when I follow general openvpn how to's I get many errors.


any help would be greatly appreciated

Presuming you're meaning a client rather than a server. The above is the newest OpenVPN client I know of for OpenElec (not sure what's available for OSMC - I think there is an older OpenVPN client around in the repo's).

Well...and how to setup kodi as vpn (any kind of...OpenVPN, l2tp, pptp)?

We have no tutorials or guides here for VPN's.

A VPN is not required for Kodi to work, so it is seen as a 3rd party modification which is outside the scope of this forum.

It could be a useful tool for alot of users owning only a tiny linux kodi box, letting them do remote management and stuf but I see your point. Thanks for replying!

LibreElec has OpenVPN built into it - there are add-ons in the LE repo which will help you with a front-end for it. See the LibreElec support forum for details - it's not something we directly support here as it's outside Kodi itself.
