Beta Spotify for Kodi
Yep 1.1.34 appears to be working really well. Definitely the best it has worked since the switch to librespot. Still a slight pause between some tracks, but it really is very minimal.

You can use the Kodi spotify addon to control your installed spotify app.
Just select it as the playback target, should work fine bit I'm still ironing out some stuff.

OK, Great! Thanks for reporting back. That slight pause, does that happen on rather long tracks perhaps ?
Also great news is that FernetMenta chimbed in and fixed an issue in the Kodi code which caused the locking that we were seeing from time to time.

Navigation works fine, playback appears to work fine but has no sound. The addon says "Playback device: local playback on this device" and doesn't offer any options if I try to change the playback device (not even local device - I just get an empty list of options with only ".." as a selectable option).

Hope this helps! Fantastic addon, many thanks for all your efforts to keep this working.

Please send me a full log, not just a portion.

Ah, sorry, I was trying to be clever and just provide the playback portion but obviously I removed too much. Here's the full untruncated kodi.log:

Not particularly any pattern to it. I'm listening to music right now and just had a 2-3 sec pause after a track that was only 1:25 long so definitely happening on short tracks also.

I saw the patch by FernetMenta. That is excellent news Smile

2-3 seconds is fine, it takes a little time before the track is pulled from Spotify. Once the track is cached it will be very fast.
I'll try to decrease the buffer size a bit, that way it will start streaming faster to Kodi.

Hmm, I see that you're using 32bits windows on Kodi 16.
I've only tested with 64 bits Windows on Kodi 17.
From your log I can clearly see that it's failing to launch the librespot binary but I have no clue why.

I'll see if I can do some testing in a VM later today. I'll report back once I found out what's wrong.

Yeah I'm not particularly fussed by it as it really is only a very minimal pause. I'm more concerned about reliability which, so far, has been excellent with the latest version. I've only had something give me the "failed to find next item" error once and it still played on the second try.

For me it's now not working at all with the latest update. The ones before played but then stopped after more or less 30 seconds. Or started stuttering.

With latest version it didn't even start. I'm using OSMC for raspberry pi.

I used to have spotlight working like a charm on my old openelec setup but needed to update for ither addons. Since then no more spotify for me? I hope this addon will work!

What model raspberry pi ? Note that the Pi 1 or zero is not supported.
Do you have a Kodi logfile for me ?

EDIT: wait, found the issue. It was specific to OSMC. Please test the next version 1.1.36

Hello Marcel,

perhaps you could help me with the following problem within Spotify:

I can see all my playlists, but when i try to start a title nothing happens and I get the error message that the title could not be found. I already tried to enable/disable the options in the setting regarding spotifyconnect and caching but without result.

When I get the update 1.36 I hope it works as you stated above.

I fixed an issue for OSMC in version 1.1.36

Um, no, I'm running Win 7 Home Premium, 64 bit - just checked in case I was going crazy! The machine has 8GB RAM and reports 7.9 usable so I'm pretty confident on this one. Smile

If Kodi 17 is working, though, that's probably the kick in the pants I need to get around to upgrading!

OH ok great, as it stands 1.1.36, clicking a song sometimes opens up the Spotify TV app to the main menu, and other times it tries to play the first 3 seconds of the last played song in Spotify_not the song I selected.

Hi, first message but i've using your plugin for a while, great work.

I've been having some startup problems since version 1.1.24, the error was:

>> import wsgiserver -> ImportError: cannot import name wsgiserver

After taking a look into the error the solution that i've fount is to include this lines In file httpproxy.py (now, everything is working fine):

try:
from cheroot.wsgi import Server as WSGIServer
except ImportError:
from cherrypy.wsgiserver import CherryPyWSGIServer as WSGIServer

My system is Fedora 26 with Kodi 17.3
