Beta Spotify for Kodi
(2016-11-25, 02:37)marcelveldt Wrote: I need to take a proper look at it later but from what I see now it couldn't find a browser for the authentication part.
From your working Windows setup copy the folder plugin.audio.spotify in addon_data to your pi and it should work

thanks for your answer ! yes, i'm on a pi3 Kodi 16, OSMC, so no browser (I have webbrowser addon however...).
I already tried to copy from Windows, the folder Kodi\userdata\addon_data\plugin.audio.spotify\ to the pi3 (the .cache file, the settings.xml file and the folder libspotify) as well as from Windows the folder Kodi\addons\plugin.audio.spotify\ to the pi3, both in respective addon_data and addons folders on the pi3, but with no success, still same error.

If it can help, the plugin on Windows works perfectly. If you have any steps that I can do to help debug, I am all ready !

Hello and thank you for this plugin. I have it installed, working and it is great! Smile

I have a question though. Me and my wife have two Spotify accounts. Would it be possible to duplicate the plugin installation so that two instances are running, each for a different account?

Thanks for the answer in advance.
Regards

EDIT: I've managed to get it working. I coppied the plugin.audio.spotify folder to a new one e.g plugin.audio.spotifynew and then replaced all strings including the "plugin.audio.spotify" in plugin files to reflect the new folder name. I've also changed the name for the addon so that Kodi displays a different name for it. That is it.

This is very weird, any ideas? The fact that it doesn't start playing from the beginning plus only plays part of the song has me stumped.

@markusloffler I'm using a Spotify Premium account.

@marcelveldt Yes, it did give me that warning. I'm using your add-on on a Mini M8S running Android 6.0.1 and Kodi 16 Jarvis.

Just wondering if anyone can help me figure out why it only plays a few seconds of each song at a random point in the song?

Just a question! Huh

If I listen to a song in Spotify for Kodi, is that song added as history in Spotify Network? Cause if someone use my HTPC with kodi and listen some music that I dont like, it would be cool to not let that songs in kodi added as similar tracks in my personal phone.

you'll be playing a song using your account, so if you are wondering if this song will be taken into account in Spotify's algorithm to propose future tracks to you, I guess the answer is yes. And I can't see a way of blocking that since at the end the songs will be loaded by Spotify under your credentials.

I thought not, cause kid music I played didn't appeared in my recent listened music. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm using Libreelec on a Wetek (was originally a Wetek Openelec Play device) using Kodi Jarvis 16.1. I'm also a Mac user so I installed Kodi on my Mac, installed the add-on and the log-in process opened up Chrome and worked. I then copied the cache file from the Mac (it's in the <myusername> library in 'application support' then 'kodi' then addon_data/plugin.audio.spotify folder. Had no problem, just added the cache file and no need for renaming. Very happy with this add-on. I had just installed the new Plex add-on and now finally can access all my media and live TV including recordings on the one device.

I have already installed the Chromium extension and entered my Spotify login credentials, but when I run the app it loads for a good amount of time before it aborts. I've read this thread carefully looking for a solution and I found out about the spotify_auth.py script. I've tested it on my Mac and it seems to work cause it gave me a list of my recent liked tracks on Spotify but I don't know how to run it on my LibreELEC machine since I won't be able to install spotipy using pip on this OS.
Out of the people who made it work on LE Krypton give me an insight on how to successfully get through the login procedure please? Smile

EDIT
got it working myself by renaming the cache file created on my Mac (it was a hidden file) to <myusername>.cache just like the description said and then put it in the addon_data/plugin.audio.spotify folder on my LibreELEC PC. I had to restart the machine afterwards and now everything is working perfectly. not too hard actually haha

t h a n k s, good job !

Hi, nice plugin, thank you!
I've got the problem that the lists displayed in the Spotify-Plugin are much shorter than they should be. The search finds more than 100 results and there are only 20 on display. Changing the numbers in the settings has no effect at all. Where is it possible to change the aspect? I'm on Windows 10 and Jarvis. As I quit KODI, and reentered, I several times had to reinstall the plugin. Is there any solution?
Thanks Cacol
