Q5/Q10 Pro Firmware, Downloads, and FAQ

I saw on a Russian forum that will be a new fw after October 25 and for android 5.1.1 and not for nougat.
And they have not done anything for the future fw.
They sold so many illusions....I am not used to such incorrect marketing.

in my case, I'd rather have a FW 5.1.1 with ISO 3D works

"Следующая прошивка, на наши плееры, выйдет 25-го. Предварительного ченьжлога нету. И она будет на базе 5.1 Андройда.
Они сейчас на выставке участвуют Asia-World Expo в Гонконге. Т.е. на этой неделе опять ничего не добьёмся.
На 7.X Андройде проша будет 100%. Но пока они не называют сроков

google translate:

"Next firmware, our players will be released on the 25th. Preliminary chenzhloga no. And it will be on the basis of 5.1 Androyd.
They are now involved in the exhibition Asia-World Expo in Hong Kong. Those. This week again will not achieve anything.
On 7.X Androyd Prosha will be 100%. But as long as they do not call the timing

Looks like the Q10 got problems with MKV, h264 10-bit, 1080p, FLAC 2.0 video files.
Pixels on movements everywhere, strange colors and so on. can someone confirm? Looks good on htpc but totaly sucks on the q10 pro

nvidia Shiled can playback but with some limitation.

FLAC 2.0 48/96/192 are bitstrem at 16 bit like all android player.

+1. @futeko may have some insights as to whether we'll see another f/w update before Android N. Last word from HiMedia 2 weeks ago to us was their engineers would be busy with N and "so some other issues may be delayed".

Update, per Futeko...

"Update from HiMedia as of today.

Next firmware will be an update to Android 5.1.1 firmware, and will be next week (week starting 17-OCT).

Android 7 firmware will follow. The reason for delayed Android 7 firmware is that they want it to be stable. Which does seem the correct way to approach things.

Sorry for the delay."

Personally I am surprised they have not just released a statement saying

"The next release will be sometime this year. Do not expect much to be fixed because we have put all our dev on the next Android box we are developing. There is not a lot more profit for us using resources on a box we have, todate, sold probably about 90% of total we could ever sell and by using resources on the next unfinished box we could make a lot more money. Enjoy and keep purchasing our unfinished products."

i already mention my opinion in this post

Nvidia release a beta program for software upgrade link and its the best approach to do things correctly.
