No, we are probably not going to see any consumer world application of this. There is a user on nVIDIA forum who got the Shield to show his clients preview of his grade/edits. He was trying to play 1080p HEVC Main 4:4:4 video. Since the Shield failed, he asked whether there was another box that could play it. I had suggested HiMedia Q10/Q5 Pro.

I know that there will be a (or two) stutter(s) because when I converted from R3D to AVI, by mistake I had used a 24fps timeline. The original video is actually 23.976fps.
