@Skank, the lip-sync error on DN2820FYKH is really a minor issue, but if you want to wait a day, I'll post impressions about Dell 3050. The Celeron J1800 in it is supposed to be marginally faster (clock speed) than Celeron N2820, maybe just enough to avoid lip sync error in 3D ISO's.

Are they better than an intel nuc dn2820fykh + 4gb ddr3l 4gb 1600mhz or pretty much the same?

Both devices in the link are not good,they do not support DTS-HD And Dolby TrueHD.
ok thx

My kid has a lip sink issue every time I take the car keys back.
It kinda' rolls down past her chin.
It's not an issue though.
I tell her to map 'A' and get that stiff upper lip in sync with the lower and all is well.

Short test conclusion: Full 3d ISO File= video & audio (DTS) OK
2d mkv 1080P = video OK
audio (DTS) very minimal out of sync.
Hardware:
TV = Samsung UE55H7000
Beamer = Epson TW 9200
Avr = Pioneer VSX 924
HTPC = Nuc6i3syk, 2x4GB RAM and 64GB m.2 SSD
OS: WIN10 pro
Latest Firmware with latest Intel beta chipset driver.
Kodi: latest Version from the 3d thread

Edit: Test with the 4 3d testfiles... everything is fine, no problems with 3d Smile

Are you seeing any blurriness in 3D playback?

When stuff is "lip-synced" or "in lip sync" or "has lip sync" it is perfect. When it "has lip sync errors", "is not lip-synced", or "is out of sync", things are wrong.
There appears to be a creeping use of 'lip sync' to mean 'lip sync errors'.

It looks like you are determined and not going to give up on this any time soon Smile

Nope. There have been enough mutations of correct video terminology in PC circles, if I can do anything to keep things sensible (and so they also make sense in the video world) I will...

(Don't get me started on 'telecine' to mean adding 3:2 pulldown/repetition... And lag... Grr... Lag is the worst misuse... )

Btw. kodi does not do 3:2 pulldown.

The RenderManager was redesigned some time ago to implement a pull model. Renderthread comes by in refreshrate interval and asks for a frame to display. He then gets a frame which timestamp is not yet late. If you play 23.976 at 60 hz some frames are displayed twice or three times. As the renderqueue is elastic you should not realize any issues. The old 3:2 is long gone.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

No - my point is more that the word 'telecine' is used to mean 'add 3:2 pulldown' by many people. Whereas telecine is the machine and process of converting film to video.

In Europe we telecine 25fps film (or 24/23.976fps sped up to 25fps) to 50i/p using 2:2. It's only in 59.94Hz regions that their telecines use 3:2 (and for many years it has been done electronically rather than mechanically). The thing that really gets me is that now so little content is actually shot on film, very little footage is actually passed through a telecine. These days 3:2 pulldown is applied to 24p video, not just film, and this 3:2 pulldown has nothing to do with any telecine (Yet this addition of 3:2 is incorrectly described as being 'telecine' by many people...) The 'cine' in telecine refers to film...

Get's even worse when people start talking about 'telecine removal'...

So all being well, with 23.976 sources and 59.94 output and no waiting for decoding what is the expected cadence?

For budget options other than NUC DN2820FYKH:
  • Just tried Beelink BT3 (Atom X5-Z8300) ($132), a review sample from Everbuying, and it works surprisingly well. No HD audio bitstreaming, but full 7.1 multichannel output like RPi. I did have driver headaches w/BT3, but got them resolved. Will write a quick review later this week.
  • Testing out Dell 3050 (Celeron J1800) (about $125 used off eBay) later today. This one should do HD audio bitstreaming.

Hi Big Grin
What graphic driver did you use with your Beelink BT3 please? because the 3d doesn't work for me...
Thanks in advance
