Win Intel HTPCs/NUCs & Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback
Guys, I purchased a Dell 3050 for use with this build of Kodi I set it all up on a tv, and then moved it to my Home Theater, where it refuses to boot when connected to my Anthem Receiver. It goes into automatic startup repair every time. If I connect it directly to my Projector it will boot fine. I have tried every setting for HDMI output on the Anthem including passthrough / processed, HDMI output 1 or Auto, HDMI Auto or 8bit color. I also tried different HDMI cables. No joy. I am currently upgrading to the latest firmware, but if anyone has any ideas I would be grateful.

FWIW, previously I had both a RPI2 and a HTPC with AMD processor and Radeon graphics 6750 that worked fine on this same receiver and projector, although to be fair that was Win 7 not Win 10

No joy on the firmware update. It didn't help.

Can you try powering the 3050 without connecting to the Anthem AVR, once finish booting up, then connect it to the Anthem.

Ill give that a shot, I just tried a NUC DC32171YE I3 with Win 10 on it which currently was running my emby server and it booted no problem. I'll try your idea and see if there is a bios update for the Dell 3050

According to this Kodi Wiki page http://kodi.wiki/view/Hi10P the DN2820 should be able to handle this. But would like to receive some confirmation if this is actually no problem.
I've got a couple of Hi10P 1080p (H.264) and Main10 1080p HEVC samples I can try on Dell 3050 (Celeron J1800). I personally don't watch anime, which is where you find these right? Anyway, check the A/V samples wiki in a bit and see if there are other Hi10P types that should be added. Edit: Forgot I already added them earlier this week; see #21 here.

Thanks, and these didn't give any problems playing ? Don't have a DN2820 yet myself, but the purchase depends a bit on how well it handles those Hi10P files.

Yea tried that but no better.

I've noticed the 4 cores are running at 100% when playing back the 3d iso. On libreelec each core never goes over 10% during playback.

The man of steel is the only 3d iso that plays perfectly, I've ripped all my 3d blurays to iso with dvdfab using identical settings each time.

I tried that and when I plug in the HDMI it reboots the pc

Loaded the A05 bios from dell's website, did this on a tv. The bios loaded and it restarted now I have no video at all.

Oh well off to Dell for support

@Mylo75, hopefully someone w/an Intel N3150 will reply here. Have you tried the April 20 build, and w/disabling and enabling 'Use fullscreen window' to see how it does w/each?

I have Confused

Tried all sorts of different settings. Tried complete uninstall and reinstall of kodi.

Don't understand how the 3050 can work and the more powerful 3150 won't.

Ah well.

did you try forcing the 3d setting in kodi to "hardware based" instead of "Same as movie"

sounds like its not hardware decoding for whatever reason.

The video came back but unfortunately the bios did not help resolve the issue. When connected to my anthem avr it refuses to boot into windows.

By 3050, I at least was referring to Dell Micro 3050 w/J1800 Celeron, not the Intel 3050 chip. Has anyone had success w/Intel Celeron Processor N3050 (or N3150)?

Well it appears the problem is with the Anthem AVR. I have a Anthem AVM60 pre-amp also, I haven't installed it yet because I am waiting for the AMP I chose to go along with it. For grins I tried putting it in the chain with the Projector and the Dell and no problems.
