Can you (or anyone else) link me to a better option? I would prefer to buy it with everything already installed, but I am tech savvy enough to install on my own if it will save me $$$. Also, I have no problem with the "free" Win 10 version. Smile

Thanks!

EDIT: Just wanted to add that if the new NUC is as snappy as the Chromebox (what I'm used to), I'll be more than happy! Smile

What is the max are you willing to spend and not look back for an upgrade?

On the Cheap side this would be my number one option Intel NUC DN2820/2830, offer the seller $70.

On the Max side, I suggest getting Intel Kaby Lake.

Well, I have always been the one to pay a bit more for quality and longevity. My original $150 price point was only because that's about what I paid for the Chromebox. Smile

Looks like the one in your first link does not come with RAM, HDD or Win 10 (Win 8.1). That's not really a big deal since I've built PCs before (never a NUC), but would prefer an all-in-one solution (and am willing to pay a small premium for that convenience).

Do you got something "mid-range" (say $200-$250, all-in) that you could recommend?? It looks like anything Kaby Lake "bare bones" would be $300+, is that about right?

The AsRock Kaby Lake will be my number one choice Kaby Lake, because of the dual HDMI ports, you can also look at the Apollo Lake NUC

Why the need for dual HDMI?

Would this be the AsRock you are talking about?

I like the Apollo you linked to because it is "fully furnished". Wink

Make offer... I bought my older i3 NUC from him and he accepted an offer that was I think 20% lower than asking.

So, looking hard at that Apollo Lake NUC...but I notice that this particular NUC is not listed on the spreadsheet and that there isn't a single Apollo on the "Recommended" list. Is there anything to worry about there?

I only ask because I'm not sure how often that spreadsheet is updated.

EDIT: Also, the NUC6CAYS only has a single HDMI (which I'm assuming is 2.0). Will that be an issue with MVC playback?

Yeah HDMI 2.0 not working with MVC, and I think once they get tested and confirmed as working, they make that Google doc.

When I try to play a 3D MVC Blu-ray, the screen goes black, then it returns to the Kodi menu screen, but the audio is still playing. There is no video. I followed all the instruction in the original post. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

I'm using a HTPC with an i5-3570 CPU and Nvidia GTX 660.

Are you using your integrated Intel graphics card, and not the nVidia card?
