Is sync playback to display OFF?
Put up that debug log so afedchin/others can take a look.
Make sure you playback with the flickering and then grab it.

With sync to display off, yep. With it on, never get any display.

Will do that again and post up the logs.

I started off with full screen window mode set to off, tried a couple of samples.

Then set full screen window to on (as thats the only way it gives some playback, even though its erratic playback)

The log will show both modes with a couple of attempted play of sample files.

Hopefully some use to someone to see what is happening.

So did some more testing, with following results:

1. HDMI directly from mainboard = Audio issues with all BD iso, AV-Receiver can't
recognize the audiostream. 3D starts and Projector switches to framepacked 3D
but video flickers and has KODI UI within the video picture....

2. DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter from Club 3D, no Audio issues. 3D never shows picture, projector
shows "no input"

3. Thunderbolt 3 to HDMI 2.0 adapter from Club 3D, same as DP adapter

4. DP 1.1 to HDMI (maybe) 1.4 adapter from Delock, just works for Audio and 3D

Edit:
So is there only one converter chip used in all adapters, or is there a chance there is an
adapter with another chip, which maybe works? ( maybe somebody knows : ) )

I tried with an old USB-C adaptor I have which happens to have HDMI 1.4 also (used it for my macbook.

It seems to work a lot better than HDMI direct. It opens the file straight into MVC (I think) as it doesn't quickly switch from SBS/TAB, just straight into a 3D mode. But it is not smooth at all. It is nowhere near as "choppy" as using HMDI direct, it doesn't flicker all over and have items from kodi menu in it...but it is not smooth. I checked the stats and CPU was only ever max of around 20% but it seemed to be struggling still to play the files smoothly.

For me no NUC, it's i5 7500T CPU.

If I break down the signal to HDMI 1.4 with the DP 1.1 Adapter all works
fine for Blu-ray 2D (audio) and 3D. Of course no UHD with 50/60 Hz, have
to check if UHD content plays at all and if automatic resolution switching
works with this adapter.

All HDMI 2.0 ways work fine for the UHD content (Netflix 4K and UHD Blu-ray
not tested, only demofiles), KODI switches resolution and framerate and plays
them fine.

Does the Windows desktop run at 3840x2160p native resolution or do you have to manually fiddle with the adjustments?

Automatic resolution switching works, and 3D MVC seems to work, to an extent, but the playback is similar to what you would see on a machine which isn't powerful enough.

Maybe your machine being more powerful, with the i5, is making a difference?

My Desktop is running in 1080p 24fps, because most played movies on this HTPC are with that
framerate and because I had issues with automatic resolution switching in KODI for 3D movies.
Kodi tryed to play 3D with UHD resolution, but that can't work of course. This was with my older

Auto switching seems mainly ok here (certainly for refresh rates) but I do notice that when it switches to 2160p it gets stuck. Have to reboot the machine to resolve it!

It's working fine for me using the HDMI from Mobo, Thunderbolt 3 or
DisplayPort 1.2 from Mobo with the Club3D adapters. The only issue
is with 3D and the HDMI directly from Mobo has also issues with HD
audio.

Have to check it again with Intel SGX enabled. Not shure if it has an
influence to my 3D issue but will test it. For UHD Blu-ray playback it
needs to be enabled. Could imagine that without this feature the
HDMI 2.0 and/or HDCP 2.2 is not 100% correctly used.
