You are upscaling 1080p 3D to 2160p, same as any other 4k display. This was posted here over a year ago and another thread over 2 years ago.

I was also wondering if I am actually missing out by not having 3D Hardware MVC available...maybe the answer, with the OLED, is no!

Can you look at the signal info on you OLED when used in 3D interlaced mode and confirm that you are actually getting 4K x 2K at 24fps?
On mine it says >> [3D][3840x2160@24Hz] << when moving the LG remote pointer to the top of the screen when playing 3D media by Kodi.

What does Kodi show when you press the "o" button on your keyboard during playback and ctrl+shift+o (codec info)?

Thanks, just catching up Wink

I have Epson 3D projector with active glasses. MVC Frame packing works for me. Display is only 1080p.

Of-course it is, BR media source is 1080p. This Kodi build is doing a great job converting it to something special. Something special that I have never seen on one of my other 3D (Plasma) TV's that I used before and I'm still using one of them. And it was Frame Packed 1080p active 3D that I've been looking at before, and it is in noway comparable with what I see now.

But you can't compare "any other" 4k display with the picture that a Oled 4k passive screen can show you. Maybe it's the great contrast that gives it something extra, more special. I don't know, I don't really care. I take it as it comes, exceptional great to watch, and that's it.

I wish mine would show the refresh rate! I wonder why it does on your set but not mine? OLEDE6V. It bugs the life out of me as I like to see what it is actually showing!

I have the LG OLED 65E6V and mines doesn't show the refresh rate either. It only shows 3D / 16:9 / 1080p / Dolby Digital when playing the file from Kodi samples wiki.

Can you please playback the Kodi test sample ISO on your setup and post what your output is during playback with Kodi codec info (button "o") and ctrl+shift+o

So the pointer doesn't showing anything when moving it to top? If you like you can exchange it with my 950V Wink

No, seriously, I'm thinking getting the E6 as one of the last that provides a 3D option as the whole 2017 series missing that option. It give me also more HDR possibilities so I maybe get one at the last moment when the price is at it lowest.

"the Kodi test sample ISO"?

Just using another BR ISO also acceptable?

Thanks man! Don't know why my TV doesn't upscale BR ISO's to 3840x2160. It stays on 1920x1080. Can someone with a LG OLED E6V (2016 model) confirm this?

I'm on 04.30.65 - did you receive .90 OTA, or manual flash?

Do you think maybe the something special you've never seen on your plasma compared to your new 4k OLED has anything to do with your comparison of 1080 to 2160? I'm assuming your plasma isn't 4k.

It's a matter of preference. I've seen LG OLED vs a bunch of other high quality, high priced 4k displays. I think you think you are on to something new no one else has ever experienced before. Furthermore, you're insinuating, well preaching, that your new found discovery of viewing up scaled 1080 on a 4k display is limited to LG's only. Uhm, I don't even know what else to express to you other than this is not an LG OLED vs the world my panel is better than your panel thread. It's more common than you think. I'm glad you just discovered it. Others were excited when 1st discovered and shared here years ago too. At any rate, enjoy.

P.S. Here's what perked my interest from 2011 and I started playing with 4k and 3D. I posted pics at 4k resolution. Was LG OLED even around in 2011?

It shows the resolution and audio mode and if it's 3D, nothing for the refresh rate, which drives me crazy!

The E6 is amazing however, it's tricky with price, the price may remain static as it is the last with 3D. Some say not may rise! I would definitely recommend it anyway, I love it!

Manual flash. There is now an even higher version available but I didn't flashed that one yet. Do you get 4K resolution when playing 3D or is it 1080p?

Will have a look, cheers.

When playing it remains in 4k/2160p resolution. So just upscaling.
