The i5 with HDMI 1.4 should also do 4K at 24 fps interlace mode as well as hardware frame packing. This way the type of TV will not interfere with quality of image.I tested and compared several things, no explanation for some things I saw, but that maybe will be cleared up later. I will add more text when I forgot something.
Let us know your observations.
Here it comes..
Al systems are running Windows 10 Prof. Up to date (drivers and OS). After every resolution change I rebooted the system.
Media used:
Ant-Men ISO testfile
Edge of Tomorrow ISO full media
Watch position: 3 meters from 55" LG Oled 950V TV, horizontal to TV center.
Receiver: no up-scaling, just passing signal as is.

Besides what one can read above, the Kaby Lake iGP is a step up regarding Image Quality comparing it to the Haswell iGP, no doubt about this. I never notice this before, but tonight I did for the first time.
If one should have some follow up questions, let's go.
Edit: there seems to be an answer above for my vague experience, great !!
