Heatinging issues with v17?
#1
I've had the same KodiBuntu install for about a year. Recently upgraded to v17.

Tonight, for the first time while playing a movie my system completely shutoff. When booting it back up I get a CPU temperature error.

These are the changes that I have made:
Upgraded Kodi from v15 to v17
Installed a lightpack and replace Hyperion with boblightd. <-- I suspect this could be the reason, as I've added another USB device. But, it seems like a stretch. Am I wrong here?

This system has been running for about 3 weeks now with no issues.

I guess I need to move my CPU from out of the cabinet.
I've upgraded to latest Kodi commit.

Anything else that I need to check or do to possibly reduce temperatures? Has anybody experienced similar issues?

Sincerely yours,

We cannot help you without a Debug Log

If it's temperature related: Disable the RSS feed, make sure hw acceleration is working. If all this does not help reliable -> fix your cooling, as it is not good enough to keep the system cool in such conditions.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
