Release YouTube Plug-in Thread
I have a 1st generation FireTV box (not stick). It appears that the DASH option of the plugin selects the highest frames per second for the bit rate. That selection causes an issue with this device. The box's specs say its capable of 1080p60, but either something is not quite right and the videos at 60 FPS stutter and drop frames. I have tried playing with the min/max bit rates, but I cannot seem to get it to select 1080p30. I either get 720p or 1080p60 depending on the values entered. Can the plugin be modified to specify max frame rate limit for a resolution? For example, allow 720p60, 720p120, 1080p30, 1080p60, etc.? Being able to limit FPS will also help for those of us that face bandwidth caps. Thanks!

OK, i think that you have in mind Colossus and Smash repositories, which i have installed after reading that article @Karellen-Link removed - just for testing and out of curiosity. Now, after some research i know why you are against it. I'm not interested in illegal stuff, and i have already removed these repositories from my Kodi.

it's my first post, so in first i would like to thank for great plugin! I'm using it for playing 8-10h long videos like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyEY6t_e...x&index=10
Unfortunately, after some time video simply stops - in most cases after 6h.

Here is the log: https://pastebin.com/is3PZTdi

As can be seen, Curl is saing that HTTP returned error 403 and InputStream Adaptive: url doesn't provide any data: invalid. Can it be related with limits in youtube API, or it's a kid of bug? I use custom keys to authorise.

thank you in advance!
As moderators requested, i removed banned repositories and here is new, "clean" log: https://pastebin.com/28GJeKNF
I hope this time i can count on your support Smile
Hello @chrisub

If you are still requiring assistance, please submit a new debug log as we won't diagnose your previous one with the banned items.

Thanks.

@chrisub: That is still not a debug_log (wiki) so it doesn't tell much. Another user reported issues with the x64 nightlies as well, something about libcurl version. https://github.com/jdf76/plugin.video.yo...issues/198 may be related.

does youtube search api allow filtering by duration like on the website? The <4min >20min part

I'm running into the same issue you are.  More control over what fps/resolutions are allowed/disallowed would be very helpful.

The DASH frame rate selection is an option of the dash plugin. the youtube plugin has no control on how it is set up. All we can do is point you to the inputstream plugin and let you configure it.

Thanks

You're right, 5.4.14Bump isn't our version so you'll need to talk to the guy who modded the code or switch to the version from our repo or the official repository.

Jeff
@ ibshar
the 5.4.14Bump it's a FAKE version released and published above 2 months ago by a banned repo now offline for ever.....

Pass to the GitHub project page and pick last alpha..........

Sorry, I had 5.4.5 from the kodi repo, but once it was not working while trying to fix it i downloaded this one. I have removed it now and restored the original version. And it seems to be working again today after shutting down the pi for some time and then starting it again.
is it correct that you can stream only live content in 1080p? and you need DASH for 1080p and above for non-live content?

edit:
i tried to play a video with 2160p and 60 fps. 2160p is okay but only 30 fps are pssoible with DASH. anyone an ideao?
