Release YouTube Plug-in Thread
Took 5 minutes today to get YouTube add-on up and running right again. Using personal API, had absolutely no issues getting everything back to normal. Thanks for fixing the view settings, btw!! Everything looks uniform now and feels more professional.
@sheggy012, check inputstream.mpd is enabled. Add-ons - Add-on Browser - My add-ons - VideoPlayer InputStream
A log with debugging enabled should reveal more if that doesn't resolve it.

if you can't black out your keys on the image, then just PM me the images and i'll take a look.

Jeff

thanks for taking a look. Yes, I do get a login error when I try to use my own key. And, if I compare it to your example on Post #2, there are differences I PM'ed you my console screenshot.
Hello. I try to start play playlist using jsonrpc. I send request:

Code:
plugin.video.youtube/play/?video_id=iGAoEKE4Xf8&playlist_id=PLhSBw7mO1U1fPQlevc1CU1GLXImYPwbNd&order=default

script add all items to playlist but don't want start playing.

In log I don't see any errors.

If a send only video_id it play.

I hope someone is able to help.

Try turning off MPEG Dash and see if it works. Then we can troubleshoot it further.

For some reason tuning it off and on again solved the issue. Thanks anyways.

Your OAuth ID is set to a web application. The plugin is not a web application so that is why you are probably getting the Auth Error.

You'll notice the few arrows i have pointing to Other so it should which one to select.

* I updated the picture to make it a little more clearer. One of the arrows i noticed was in the playstation 4 spot. Sorry about that.

Jeff
Thanks Jeff, Creating a new OAuthID of type 'Other' fixed my issue.
No problem.

Just an FYI to everyone i have submitted 5.3.3 to Kodi Repo. If i did it right, which i'm sure i did but.. you never know Wink so hopefully it'll be there next week.

I know that "youtube live" is not your priority number 1, but is there a chance of a fix in the near future?

The live video feed is starting, but after 1 or 2 minutes, it freezes and crash.

My setup
Raspberry Pi 1 B+
libreelec 7.9 (not working with or without dash) kodi 17
Openelec (not working) kodi 15
Does the history work with personal api?

No, neither does watch later. Google has taken that away with Youtube API v3.

Jeff
@vargo, if the video has started at all. It's no longer add-on related. It is likely ffmpeg/hls related, which may be related to OS/Kodi version/connection as well.

@makita86 to use a custom watch history/later, not youtube's watch history/later.
You can create a new playlist, and then in the context menu on that playlist you should see 'Set as History'/'Set as Watch Later'. Which you can tell the add-on to use the playlist to keep a custom watch history, or to act as your custom watch later.

When setting up playlists to use as custom history, and custom watch later, is there something I'm missing??

I set up a playlists for each. One using <playlist is history> and the other <playlist is later>. Save and exit out. I go into add-ons. Into YouTube add-on settings. Set history to use playlist ID "history". Watch Later is set to playlist ID "later". I save and exit.

I start add-on. Go to Recommendations. Bring up context menu and select Watch Later. Error. Can't find playlist. I watch a video, try to check history. Error. Notification box disappears before entire error shows itself.

You know thats a good question. I think the ID's are numbers. I think you should set up the playlists on the website and get the id from there.

Edited:

ok, here the fun with that

When you go to the website www.youtube.com you'll see this URL when you go to one of your playlists

Code:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLveM7mx3orDDe3ybhVunJd13d87Us2jvP

Once there you'll need the PLveM7mx3orDDe3ybhVunJd13d87Us2jvP part and that will be your ID.
