v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 17.0)

Having problem with kernel panic with my Pi 2 Model B since build #0823 (works with #0822 and lower builds)
Crash seems to be related to Netgear A6100 (rtl8812au) when plugged in during boot or plugged in after successful boot.
Unplugged it works just fine.

Thanks

Hi, I have the same problem with my D-Link DWA-171 stick.

Presumably an upstream bug from 4.7.2 kernel.

Testing #602 with the firmware (start.elf/fixup.dat) copied from #601 and #613 would be useful.
You could also test the very latest build with firmware from #601.

It appears to be caused by the firmware change in #0602, but we'd like to confirm that.
That should have been fixed in #613.
By #725 and later it is always possible there is a different issue that has similar symptoms.
Update to 0830 last night. Honestly it's been a few builds since I tried using the Amazon addon. Now I'm seeing the following in the logs:

ERROR: AddOnLog: InputStream MPEG DASH: Decrypt Sample returns failure!

Before I start going back through builds, is anyone else seeing that issue with 0830?

There is more than one Amazon addon... Smile

I'm not seeing a problem here - testing with Amazon Prime Instant addon, UK, #0830.

I played episodes of Lucifer, Mr Robot and Preacher without any issues.

Yeah, I keep forgetting there are multiple Amazon addons. I am using the plugin.video.amazon-test from Sandman79. Just guessing that the decrypt error is actually from inputstream. Of course I'm in the USA and I've already had to force the Amazon plugin to stay away from Cloudfront since it always throws an authentication error. I'll wait to hear if anyone else using Amazon instant video in the USA is having a similar issue. I've had it happen on both my rpi3 devices.

I've got problems I haven't in previous version (805 I think) : I can't move (chapter jump, or fast forward) in a 3D movie. It "jumps", but only one picture is displayed and frozen, as if it was paused.

Here the log : http://sprunge.us/aKWc

Thank you for your help,

Turn off passthrough, any better?

If not, can you identify the exact build when this problem started.

Two things :
- I never found the "Passthrough" option, except regarding System/Audio setup.I can't find any "Passthrough" option regarding video (neither 3d).
- Looking for "passthrough" option, I found this post :
(2016-08-23, 15:51)drdwridav Wrote: A few things I'm observing at the moment - and a couple of queries. These aren't build specific, as it seems the same no matter what version I choose. For info I'm on pi3, 818 build at present:

1. Popcornmix, you'll remember our posts a couple of weeks back about 3D switching and the menu staying in 3D on exiting films? I thought I'd solved this by adding a 1 second refresh rate delay. This does work, but only if OMX is the player. If it's MMAL, gui stays in 3D on exiting. I have found a workaround to change the gui refresh rate. At first I used 23.98 (obviously works as no refresh rate change) but sluggish. Bizarrely a 25.0 refresh rate also works fine though (and is noticeably faster navigating the menu) so that's what I'm now sticking with. Any other combo (e.g 50 or 60) and 3D films using MMAL exit to the gui in 3D. At least I've found something that works for me though!

2. Out of interest what is the current status of OMX v MMAL? What is recommended for a 3D film for example? I don't notice much in terms of PQ, OMX perhaps a tad sharper.

3. What I have noticed though on 3D mkvs is that with OMX film plays fine, but if I jump forward/backwards the movie stops (even though the mins/seconds on play counter continues to go on). MMAL, I can use forwards and backwards without issue.

4. AC3 passthrough (using an external hdmi optical splitter to take optical to old AC3 decoder). Works fine on OMX. MMAL also works, but on codec information, rather than listing speakers as LR, FR...32 bit AC3, for 5.1 it says RAW, RAW, RAW, RAW, RAW, RAW 8 bit AC3. Don't quite understand that (displays it correctly if passthrough disabled).

5. Is there any way of switching between MMAL and OMX - selecting which player to use from the Movies section rather than having to amend system preferences? Doesn't seem to be an option in context menu. I've tried keymap editor and programmed 'switch player' to a remote - this brings up a 'video player (default)' message as a context menu during playback but doesn't seem to change anything on selection.

Happy to debug any of the above if if would be helpful for future builds. All very minor, I think the builds are amazing!
Cheers

I tried to switch off "OMX acceleration", as written in 3 : no more bug. fast forward/backward is ok again.

So, I'm not sure to have already used this option before, it will be hard for me to find when the problem started. Do you want me to do some other tests ?

Thank you;

Set your settings level to Expert so that you see all settings, and you should see the "Enable passthrough" option in System Settings > Audio. Turn this off, as it looks like you have it enabled:
Code:
08:10:23  38.422821 T:1439691680   DEBUG: COMXAudio::Initialize device passthrough 1
...
08:10:23  38.428131 T:1439691680   DEBUG: COMXAudio::PortSettingsChanged - bits:0 mode:0 channels:0 srate:0 passthrough

Passthrough audio is currently causing an issue or two when seeking, so I wanted to see if disabling passthrough helped you with your seeking.

Do I just copy the files to the 3rdparty/bootloader folder in the 601 tarball, or is replacing these files more involved?

Thanks!
I am having issues with releases since I believe #0823 on my RPi2.
-Skipping backwards now shows buffering window (my wire network is uncongested and optimized - there has never been an issue previously).
-Radio plug no longer streams any audio stations (system hangs then eventually reboots)

This has been the case for some time now. (MMAL being superior to OMX for 3D MKV)

Newest build still doesn't work with rtl8811au/8812au.

hi, the last build #0831 is the best for live-tv, im using tvheadend server+client on Raspberry pi 3(IPTV Playlist) and the switching the channels is perfekt, the build #0831 have a switch time from 0-2 sec.. (the #0829 have 4-7 sec)
can i use the update for kodi 16.1? maybe update kernel in Jarvis?
