v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)

Sorry, there was a mistake in the changelog - "CodecInfo" is renamed to "PlayerDebug" (not "ProcessDebug" - posts have been corrected).
[/quote]

I think >PlayerProcessInfo< is the new dialog and the old one is still available with the renamed value >PlayerDebug<

Ok, I think PlayerDebug is eventually only available on the RaspberryPi...
See http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?pid=...pid2384830

PlayerDebug (new name for CodecInfo) is available on all platforms, just as it's always been, but is no longer mapped to any buttons or keys by default (this is now PlayerProcessInfo).

However the usefulness of the PlayerDebug (formerly CodecInfo) overlay will vary from platform to platform - the Raspberry Pi builds include additional information that are not in upstream Kodi.

OK in build #0423 there's a mesa bump and a major kerenl bump, so it looks like a bug in either of those (most likely the kernel). It's hard to say what is causing the problem without clearer logs.

If it's a problem that occurs at shutdown then you could add "debugging" to /flash/EFI/BOOT/syslinux.cfg (UEFI) or /flash/extlinux.conf (legacy BIOS) and that should preserve your system log across reboots. Then trigger the problem, restart the system and upload your journal with "journalctl -a | pastebinit" - it may include a clue as to what is happening (no promises on a fix though).

Edit: Also, just to be clear on the actual problem - you said:
Quote:I have a Zotac Zbox CI520, which was running the #0419 build. After I installed the #0503 something is f'ed up with the power and or IR-settings. After a shutdown it won't power up with the remote, I have to do it manually.
With #0419 were you powering off the box, or putting it into standby? From the #0510 log you sent me, it looks like you're shutting down Kodi (which crashed due to nfs which you say isn't an issue) and thus powering off the box. Whenever I power off my boxes, they don't come back on with a remote control - never have, never will... they only wake from standby.

If you intended to put your box into standby on shutdown, check you still have the "Suspend" option selected as the "Shutdown function" in Kodi Settings > System > Power Saving.

I always shutdown the devices, and "Shutdown" is the selected Shutdown function.

The log can be found here: http://sprunge.us/SSeE
For comparison, the working build (#418): http://sprunge.us/bgFW

Thanks.

Kodi segfaulting due to NFS everytime it is shutdown is not good. I'm seeing that here too - will try and work out when that started.

As for your two logs, both systems (one with 4.7.0 kernel, other with 4.4.7) appear to complete the shutdown more or less normally.

Presumably with 4.4.7, the machine is left in a state where it can be woken up (from power off) on receipt of an IR signal, and this isn't happening since 4.6-rc4. This would look like a kernel (and/or BIOS) bug of some sort. Since the machine has been "powered off", I guess you are resuming from the S5 sleep state, which is no longer working since 4.6-rc4.

Milhouse thank you for adding SIL680 support. Now what if I have some sort of issue with this build. I report the issue here but If I want to downgrade is that possible? Would I be able to retain SIL680 support somehow?

UPDATE: I tried it and sure enough a xorg problem. failed to start xorg server. Dependencies not met for fluxbox. Is legacy driver 304.xx included? See: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverRes...0399/en-us This has to be because my graphics card is aging but still awesome at playing 1080p h264 video in libreElec 7.0.2. I have a Geforce 7900 GTX with 512mb DDR3 ram. Its a bad ass graphics card I dont care who says its old and past its prime, this thing rocks.

Update 2: It seems linux nvidia driver 304.131 is included. I have no idea what the issue is than.

You can downgrade, but you won't retain SIL680 support.

Seriously? You hadn't even tried this build before asking for a new config option for your hardware? Since you're likely the only potential user for SIL680 I'll revert that change. Unfortunately your hardware isn't supported by these builds, nor any future builds. It's time to upgrade.

Nope, Nvidia Legacy uses the 340.96 driver. Current Nvidia hardware (non-legacy) uses 367.35. Neither support GeForce 7900 GTX.

We switched from 304.131 to 340.96 in April at the request of other nvidia users that considered the 340 driver to be superior in terms of image quality to the 304 driver.

You can still find the 304.131 driver in LibreELEC 7.0.x, but in LibreELEC 8.x (and these test builds) the legacy driver will be 340.96.

I'm afraid you're out of luck on the GPU driver front as far as these builds and LibreELEC 8.x+ is concerned.

Ohh No.. I did not know I needed to request a config. Is there anyway I can submit one now? The process is really new to me. So Sorry.. Please Milhouse Sil680 and my geforce 7900 work great. I did try to mismatch kernal and system from 7.0.2 and sure enough no luck getting it to boot.

Please dont drop SIL680 its only a few KB kernal edit and really will make my system complete. Even if I have to stay on this build forever its fine.

I meant the config for SIL680, which I added for you, only to discover tonight that your graphics card is too old which means there was really no point in me adding the SIL680 support.

(2016-08-01, 02:13)madhits Wrote: Please Milhouse Sil680 and my geforce 7900 work great.
I'm sure they do but we don't support the 7900 and there's no way that we can support it without downgrading the existing driver, which then affects all the users of more recent hardware.

Your best option is a custom (self) build of LibreELEC 8, where you can downgrade the nvidia-legacy driver to whatever version you require (ie. 304.131). And if you're self building you can easily add the SIL680 config option too, killing two birds with one stone.

Alternatively, replace your ageing hardware with a Raspberry Pi3... Wink

But the build doesn't work because of your graphics card... what point is there in retaining support for the SIL680 when you (the only person that needed it) can't use it? Or am I missing something here?

Since Fritsch's Intel improvements have been dropped whats the easiest way to add them back?

Turns out it's not a new issue, nor is is LibreELEC specific: http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/16425#comment:1

May possibly be x86_64 specific, as it's not reproducible on RPi/RPi2.

Read the pull request. You should be able to add the xrandr commands to your autostart.sh.
