v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)
(2016-09-16, 02:07)Milhouse Wrote: Although it's not the right solution, as you shouldn't need the custom xorg.conf. This confirms something is wrong with the Xorg/Mesa/GPU detection.

Can you provide me the following output with the RX460 installed:
Code:
lspci | pastebinit
lspci -v | pastebinit
dmesg | pastebinit
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | pastebinit
Thanks.

Can you also re-test #0915x and #0915y with your custom xorg.conf, as it would be good to know if the RX460 now works with mesa 12.0.3 and current libdrm, or if it needs mesa 12.1.0-devel and updated libdrm (I'd like to avoid including 12.1.0 if possible).

Edit: OK I see you were testing with #0915x in your previous post. Great, that means it works with 12.0.3. I'll drop 12.1.0-devel in the next build (hopefully 12.1.0-devel is also working!)

#0915x #0915y #0915b all work

I am running the logs from #0915y, if you require the logs from another build pls let me know and I will run them in the morning.

lspci | pastebinit - http://sprunge.us/ZGdM
lspci -v | pastebinit - http://sprunge.us/aQVj
dmesg | pastebinit - http://sprunge.us/ZLQP
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | pastebinit - http://sprunge.us/hYTZ

Thanks. Not entirely sure how to solve this at the moment, the pci id of the card clearly identifies it to the kernel as an amdgpu part so not sure why Xorg is picking the wrong driver.

When you get a chance, can you do the following:

1. Remove (or rename) the custom xorg.conf so that the system uses the default xorg.conf (and thus fails to load the amdgpu driver)
2. Boot into #0915y with the RX460, confirm that Xorg fails to load, then run:
Code:
lspci -v | pastebinit
3. Then restore your custom xorg.conf so that the amdgpu driver is loaded.

I'm interested to see what driver the kernel is using when you don't specify the custom xorg.conf.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.
xf86-video-amdgpu 1.1.1 is now released which has full support for Polaris, so I'll switch to this release in the next build (from the unstable amdgpu master I've been using the last few builds). You'll still need a custom xorg.conf for RX4x0 cards (for now).

Now - that it works - a vdpauinfo output would be also quite nice to have and testing HEVC-8 bit decoding.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
Edit : Thank you @Milhouse

With the xorg.conf solution, i have as well the RX 460 working.
But i'm loosing the passtrough with the AVR. (tried all the #0915 series. I have normal audio on the interface though.

Setup :
RX460 HDMI (or DP) -> monitor.
Motherboard HDMI->AVR

Before (RX460 not working):
Motherboard HDMI (AMD GPU)->AVR->Monitor

lspci | pastebinit : http://sprunge.us/hZWY
lspci -v | pastebinit : http://sprunge.us/iOSg
dmesg | pastebinit : http://sprunge.us/OLaV
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | pastebinit : http://sprunge.us/XYRI

Edit : vdapuinfo : http://sprunge.us/hSJA
What means: "Loosing the passthrough"? A kodi.log is needed to check that.

Nice ^^ ready for the future, sadly ffmpeg / vdpau does not yet implement hevc 10 decoding.

I meant, i have no audio with the passtrough , for example, i played a True HD movie, no sound. (working with #0914)
kodi .log playing True HD :
http://sprunge.us/CXfK
It opens DTS-HD (was not TrueHD, right?), which opens correctly. Make sure you have set the @@@ device as your PT device. Also keep it at 60 hz for now.

Everything in DTS HD-MA or Dolby True HD is silent
The rest (DTS, AC3..) is OK
When using HDMI on RX460, i can't reach 60Hz (only 30)
When using DP, i can have 60Hz.
And here is the kodi.log, with #0914 , rx 460 disabled.
HDMI->AVR->Monitor

Could the RX460 users please post the output of the following command

Code:
udevadm info -q all -a /sys/class/drm/card0 | pastebinit
and
Code:
udevadm info -n /dev/dri/card0 | pastebinit
