v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)

Try the original samba config, does it make any difference?

Not sure how I missed it, but that did the trick. Thank you! Nod

edit: For the sake of trouble shooting, I also tried LibreELEC (Krypton) v7.90.007 ALPHA and it was the same way, that is until, I reverted back to the original samba config. I'm unsure if the build dates align, so not sure if it helps.

Hasn't worked for me.
MySQL is on same NAS as movies/tvs etc hardwired to router.
Lubuntu in front room access is fine.
Let me install 1017 and grab the samba.conf after it reboots..

7.90.007 doesn't include the updated Samba config - it uses the same config I asked you to download - so if you're having problems with stock 7.90.007 it probably has nothing to do with the Samba server configuration change.

Can you delete the original config and reboot your SMB server?

This doesn't have anything to do with MySQL.

Update has been working well since the fix. Thanks!.

Just giving you all the info of my setup. Know not related just thinking out loud.

I can look in the git to compare changes .. or not on there?

Also this error is stopping my audio engine from initialising after sleep/return from suspend?

Code:
13:57:48 267.131439 T:140308968663104  NOTICE: OnSleep: Running sleep jobs
13:57:48 267.131561 T:140308968663104  NOTICE: OnSleep: Stopping lirc
13:57:56 270.187103 T:140308939769600   ERROR: ActiveAE::UnconfigureSink - failed to unconfigure

There was also a AEInit error [cant recall exact name] and isn't in this log yet, as ofc. lost the log in rebooting for smb tests ..
I still don't see how the Samba server change (which is an OS component, not used by Kodi) should affect the behaviour of the smb client used by Kodi. Possibly our new Samba server config is confusing/conflicting with the Samba server in your NAS, but if 7.90.007 also has a problem then this pre-dates the config change...

Have you both tried rebooting your Samba servers (don't create the custom samba.conf), in case they need to renegotiate who is in charge?

Well something is off obv., if 1017 just works with no tweeking and latest doesn't.
I will load latest and reboot NAS, but I'm sure i've tried this along the way.. sec.

No difference, kodi busy icon sat spinning and freezes me out..

Thanks.

So "pidof smbd nmbd" returns nothing? ie. no Samba server processes are running? If so, this would make things even more bizarre, as the samba.conf change should have had no effect on your system whatsoever.

@peak3d could your inputstream.mpd changes in #1018 have any impact on smb://?

Ok, so with latest build and samba server on in libreelec settings (no pw):

Code:
LibreELECtoo:~/.update # pidof smbd nmbd
570 601

with it off

Code:
LibreELECtoo:~/.update # pidof smbd nmbd
LibreELECtoo:~/.update #

..nada

1017 samba off

Code:
LibreELECtoo:~ # pidof smbd nmbd
LibreELECtoo:~ #

1017 samba on
Code:
LibreELECtoo:~ # pidof smbd nmbd
879 881
LibreELECtoo:~ #

I'm not sure if samba.conf is included with build, I didnt check to see if so on tests? EDIT: yes it is
So, with the LE Samba server OFF (no processes running), and using only the default settings (ie. without /storage/.config/samba.conf), do you still have smb:// problems with builds #1018 and later? As that would make very little sense...

@Milhouse: #1015 fixed my video stuttering issue Wink

thx

Yes, still problems.
1018 no samba.conf and server off. Busy spinner ad inifinitum.
And this no audio from resume log:
