I won't comment on fast forwarding in times when video data is not on tapes anymore. Use it for 2x speed, but use left / right for everything higher.

well if i cant remember precisely where i was in a movie i will fast forward untill i see the scene coming up, as a for instance i can fast forward up to 32x with MP4 HD or mpeg2 HD files i have, but with HEVC it will freeze after a few seconds

All this fast forwarding testing is pointless without using actually reference video material that is properly encoded.
We are not seeing all AML LE users complain about HEVC so you appear to be unique.

I agree with Fritsch FFWD is redundant in an Kodi age where Skipping about video is far quicker.

We are not using a Bluray player here.

Wait for the next AML LE community release that has further tweaks and bug fixes, coming very soon. Simply use video Skipping instead.

So far only difference in the leaked stats that I notice is the native HDMI 2.0 (and the cache size). Guess you could say the DDR4, but Apollo Lake from Intels specs does support LPDDR4, would have to ask Intel and ASrock why they went with LPDDR3.
