Well, you probably didn't know that in Mint Mate you can disable compositing (which is what I of course did).
In Mate Tweaks, under "Windows" choose "Marco (no compositing)", voila.
So I suppose there should not be a problem with that :-)
Mint Mate provides out of the box the possibility to choose between 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz refreshrate - do you mean the problem that refresh rates like 23.976 or 59.94 Hz are not supported?
Or in which way could Mint interfere with the perfection of the playback?
